Use AI in two stages: first define a singable melody with a clear contour, key, tempo and phrase length; then render, edit and export a song around that idea. On a Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO phone, start in a mobile browser or an Android app where one is listed, save your melody brief, and keep every revision labeled.

Choose A Melody Workflow

Tool Useful Melody Role Access And Stated Pricing Important Limit
Song Cage Develop chords, melody, lyrics, arrangement, playback and recording Web, Windows, macOS, iOS and Android; Free plan; 14-day trial Free plan allows one song; PDF and MIDI export require a paid plan
SongIntent Generate melody sketches, structures and line-level revisions Web-only; Free plan; paid from $8/mo Free plan allows one active project, one render/month and five AI assists/month
Suno Turn a melody brief, lyrics and instrumentation into a complete song Web, iOS and Android; Free plan; paid from $8/mo Free Plan has no commercial rights or stem separation
Udio Prompt-led vocal or instrumental creation, lyric edits and audio transformation Free plan; paid from $10/mo; 7-day trial Audio, video and stem downloads are disabled during the transition period
Mureka Generate songs from text, lyrics, styles or reference audio, then edit and export Paid from $8/mo on an annual plan Mureka Studio and up to 12-stem splitting are reserved for Premier

Write A Melody Brief Before Generating

AI responds more consistently when the musical constraints are explicit. Write these fields in your phone notes:

  • Function: verse, pre-chorus, chorus, intro or instrumental hook.
  • Key and mode: for example, A minor; if you are unsure, ask for a comfortable vocal range instead.
  • Tempo and meter: give a BPM target and 4/4, 3/4 or another meter.
  • Contour: describe whether the phrase rises, falls, arches or repeats a short motif.
  • Phrase shape: specify four or eight bars, where the breath falls and whether the ending resolves or stays open.
  • Sound limits: name the lead instrument or voice type, register and the amount of space wanted around it.

Generate A First Melody Sketch

  1. Open SongIntent in your browser and create one project. Ask for a melody sketch with your key, BPM, meter, phrase length, contour and range. Example: “Create an eight-bar chorus melody in A minor at 96 BPM, 4/4, with a three-note opening motif, an arching contour, a repeated final bar and a resolved ending. Keep the lead within a one-octave range.”
  2. Generate several variations by changing one constraint at a time: motif length, final cadence or register. Save the prompt beside each result so you can compare the musical choices.
  3. Use Song Cage when you want to place the selected melody against chords, lyrics, playback and a recording. Its workspace supports melody and chord development; MIDI export is a paid-plan feature.

Turn The Sketch Into A Complete Arrangement

  1. Copy the chosen melody description into Suno, Udio or Mureka with the intended sections marked. State where the motif appears, where the melody should simplify for a verse and where the chorus should reach its highest note.
  2. For an instrumental result, say so directly and describe the lead sound. For a vocal result, provide your own lyric syllables or a neutral placeholder so the rhythm follows your melody brief.
  3. Generate one version with sparse backing and one with fuller backing. Compare whether the melody remains audible at the phone speaker’s volume before adding more parts.
  4. Use each platform’s editing controls to revise sections where available. Suno supports editing, remixing, extensions and section replacement; Udio supports lyric edits, extensions and transformations; Mureka supports remixing, extensions and multitrack editing.

Refine Melody With A Phone-Friendly Review

  • Hum or sing the lead without the backing. If you cannot repeat the motif after one listen, shorten it or reduce the number of leaps.
  • Check the highest and lowest notes against the intended singer before recording a final take.
  • Listen for a clear arrival at the end of each four- or eight-bar phrase. Ask the AI for a different cadence instead of regenerating the entire song when only the ending is weak.
  • Keep a version with the original melody and another with revisions. This makes it easier to restore a strong idea after an arrangement change.

Export, Rights And Voice Consent

Export options differ by plan and can change. Song Cage requires a paid plan for PDF and MIDI export. Suno’s Free Plan does not include commercial rights or stem separation. Udio currently disables audio, video and stem downloads during its transition period. Mureka lists audio and MIDI export, while higher stem features depend on plan. Check the vendor’s current terms before publishing, monetising, sampling or distributing any result.

Use only voices, recordings and reference audio you have permission to use. Voice cloning, covers and imported samples can involve consent and platform rules; review the relevant terms for Suno, Udio and Mureka before uploading them. Songcraft Studio is not included in this melody workflow, but its listed free-tier songs are for personal use only, so do not assume another service has the same rights.

A Repeatable Xiaomi Workflow

  1. Keep the melody brief and prompt versions in Google Keep, Mi Notes or another notes app.
  2. Sketch and revise in SongIntent or Song Cage.
  3. Render arrangement alternatives in Suno, Udio or Mureka.
  4. Play each version through your Xiaomi phone speaker and headphones, then mark the best cadence, range and motif.
  5. Save the final prompt, source melody and export together, and recheck the chosen service’s plan and rights before release.
