Overview

Vidby is a web service for translating videos and documents, with subtitling and dubbing tools. It suits creators and teams who need multilingual video work alongside document translation. Its tiered quality options and range of plans offer flexibility, but monthly credits are limited to Full AI video orders and expire each month.

Key features

Video orders can use Actor, Professional, Full AI or Manual quality tiers, so users can choose between automated processing and options that involve more human input. Vidby says Full AI processing typically reaches around 80–90% accuracy; that makes it a practical starting point for many workflows, but a poor fit when that accuracy range is not sufficient.

Video features include AI dubbing, subtitle translation, lip synchronization, voice cloning and a review workflow. The homepage accepts videos from YouTube and Vimeo, as well as files from Google Drive and Dropbox. Subscription plans provide access to 70 languages. Document translation handles DOC, DOCX, PPT, PPTX, XLS, XLSX and PDF files, giving the service a useful role beyond video localization.

Credits apply only to Full AI video orders, not every quality tier, and unused credits expire at the end of the monthly period. After Free plan credits are used, document translation costs USD 0.25 per page. These separate limits matter: users should not assume a video-credit balance covers their documents or carries forward.

Vidby also offers API access, distribution through Google Cloud Marketplace, Microsoft Azure Marketplace and AppSource, and file translation through a Telegram bot. Its privacy policy is designed to meet EU GDPR and Swiss data protection requirements. For Vidby Call Agent, voice-stream data is processed in real time and is not stored by default. Support is available through live chat, email and a support form.

Pricing

Vidby has a free plan and monthly paid subscriptions. A free trial is also offered; Vidby Call Translator's published offer included 20 minutes of translation.

Plan	Price	What it includes
Free	0.00 USD per month, billed monthly	30 credits, 70 languages, watermark, original and subtitle downloads, automatic voice cloning
Basic	9.95 USD per month, billed monthly	100 credits, no watermark, 70 languages, templates, video editing, subtitle customization, voice cloning, ZIP/MKV
Starter	35.00 USD per month, billed monthly	300 credits, no watermark, 70 languages, Basic features plus transcription and translation editors
Pro	75.00 USD per month, billed monthly	700 credits, no watermark, 70 languages, Starter features
Enterprise	Custom pricing	All Pro features, human-in-the-loop, personal account manager, custom workflow, free test at selected quality

Free is suited to occasional or initial use, but its watermark and 30 credits constrain finished, repeat video work. Basic removes the watermark and adds editing and subtitle controls at the lowest paid price. Starter and Pro suit users who need more monthly Full AI video capacity; Starter adds transcription and translation editors, while Pro raises the allowance to 700 credits. Credits expire monthly, so a larger tier only pays off if its capacity gets used. Enterprise is the fit for custom workflows or human-in-the-loop support, with custom pricing.

Platforms

Vidby is available on the web. Its marketplace distribution and Telegram bot add routes for organizations already using those services and users who want to submit files through Telegram.

Who it's for

Vidby is a strong fit for people translating videos into multiple languages who also need subtitles, dubbing or document translation in the same service. It is less suitable for users who need credits to roll over, expect video credits to cover documents, or require Full AI accuracy beyond Vidby's stated typical range.

Pros and cons

Pros

Video and document translation together: one service supports video localization and several common office and PDF formats.
Choice of quality tier: Actor, Professional, Full AI and Manual options let users choose a workflow rather than rely on one processing mode.
Clear entry-level tiers: Free offers 30 credits, while Basic removes the watermark and raises the allowance to 100.
Multiple ways to work: Cloud storage and video-platform inputs, API access, marketplace availability and a Telegram bot support different workflows.

Cons

Credits are narrowly applicable: subscription credits count only for Full AI video orders, limiting their usefulness for other quality choices.
Unused credits expire monthly: light or uneven users may pay for capacity they do not use.
Free exports carry a watermark: users wanting clean finished videos need a paid plan.
Document costs continue after free credits: translation then costs USD 0.25 per page, separate from the video-credit allowance.

Alternatives

CAMB.AI is worth considering for API or web use: it has a free one-time 5K-credit plan and a 10K-credits-per-month Essentials plan at 5.00 USD per month.

pyVideoTrans is a free, open-source option for users who want a self-hosted or desktop-capable tool with no feature limits and are willing to pay third-party API charges separately.

Vozo AI offers a free web/API tier capped at three projects, 20 AI points, about six dubbing minutes, one seat and videos up to 20 minutes; consider it when those project limits suit the workload.

Perso Dubbing offers one free generation on sign-up with dubbing, speech-to-text and audio separation for users who want to start from a single generation.

Unmixr Dubbing gives new users 5,000 credits and watermarked exports up to three minutes on its free tier, a fit for short initial dubbing work.

Dubverse is a paid alternative with a free trial for users who prefer a paid-plan model without a free plan.

HeyGen provides web, Android and iOS access; its free plan allows up to three videos per month, each up to one minute.

Rask AI is a paid alternative with a free trial that includes three minutes and voice cloning in 32 languages.

Verdict

Choose Vidby if your work calls for multilingual video translation with a choice of dubbing and subtitle workflows, plus document translation under one roof. The main reason to look elsewhere is its restrictive credit design: monthly credits cover Full AI video orders only, expire unused and do not replace the separate per-page document charge.
