Overview

SPACEHUB Producer is a spatial-audio tool for building immersive sound fields in pre-production, studios, smaller projects, and education. It suits audio professionals and students who need object-based routing and movement on Windows or macOS; it is a less natural fit for general-purpose mixing or streaming.

Its 128-input, 16-output routing and automation make a capable free workspace for shaping immersive productions. The trade-off is access: obtaining version 2.0 requires an email-based process, not a direct download.

Key features

SPACEHUB Producer accepts up to 128 input channels from interfaces or computer playback and routes them through 16 outputs, with support for up to 128 objects. Inputs or groups can become objects placed or moved in three-dimensional space. That scale is useful for spatial pre-production, though the fixed 16-output ceiling matters when a project needs a larger playback system.

Each object can use a selectable 3D panning algorithm, and an advanced reverb engine adds space-shaping tools. Snapshots and routines, including movement, can be triggered by MIDI or OSC; adjustable snapshot fade times allow transitions rather than abrupt changes. VST3, AU, AAX, and AAX-DSP plugins support automation and control, giving studios several plugin formats to work with.

PosiStageNet compatibility and performer-tracking support extend the software to tracked performance workflows. Stereo and mono downmixes, auxiliary feeds for subwoofers and fills, and headphone monitoring downmixes help adapt a spatial mix for different listening setups. Importing loudspeaker layouts from System Optimiser can also reduce the work of bringing those layouts into the software.

Pricing

SPACEHUB Producer costs 0.00 USD per free. The free plan includes 128 inputs, 16 outputs, and up to 128 objects, so its core capacity is substantial for education, pre-production, and smaller projects without a paid tier to budget for.

The cost is access rather than a subscription: the maker requires a form, consent to future emails, and an emailed password to reach the version 2.0 download. CODA Audio says it does not sell personal data and describes collecting information through site visits, contact, and forms. Its support includes a document library and software and preset downloads; users needing additional help are directed to their local distributor.

Platforms

SPACEHUB Producer supports Windows and macOS and accepts live audio input. That makes it relevant to computer-based studio and pre-production setups on either platform; mobile use is not part of its platform offering.

Who it's for

This is a strong fit for sound designers, audio professionals, and educators creating immersive work who need object placement, movement, tracking compatibility, and multiple downmix paths without a software fee. It is less suited to users seeking a conventional mixer for everyday streams or general audio routing, or projects that need more than 16 output channels.

Pros and cons

Pros: 128 inputs and up to 128 objects are available at no cost, making substantial spatial pre-production possible without a paid plan.
Pros: MIDI and OSC triggers, adjustable snapshot fades, and broad plugin-format support provide several ways to automate a spatial workflow.
Pros: Tracking compatibility and stereo, mono, auxiliary, and headphone downmixes address both tracked performances and alternate listening or speaker feeds.
Cons: The 16-output limit may constrain installations or projects with more extensive speaker arrays.
Cons: Download access requires email consent and a password sent by email, adding friction for anyone who wants to install it immediately or avoid future mailing.

Verdict

Choose SPACEHUB Producer if you need to create or teach immersive audio on Windows or macOS and value object routing, automation, tracking compatibility, and flexible downmixing without a software charge. Its main reason to look elsewhere is the 16-output ceiling—or, for users who simply want immediate access, the email-based download process.
