STEM

What STEM is

STEM is a free web platform for bands and music collaborators to work with song stems and discuss project decisions. Its multi-track mixer lets users upload and mix stems, and invited band members can view or collaborate on projects in real time. Timed comment threads can be attached to individual tracks or the master track. Users can share songs through links with customizable permissions, keeping them private or making them public, and can render stems into an MP3, save mix snapshots, and export the render. Songs can be grouped into playable, shareable lists for albums, EPs, setlists, or work sessions. Supporting material such as lyrics, chord charts, reference tracks, session notes, and other files can be attached to songs. STEM is intended for discussing music and making decisions together, rather than for creating music like a full DAW. Some features require a Google account sign-in. The Free plan costs nothing, and version history is limited. Its privacy policy says uploaded audio is accessible to the user and people they explicitly share it with.
