Overview

Red Center brings live MRR, churn, trial and cohort metrics together with segments by country, store and plan. It also attributes saves to retention flows, connecting performance reporting with the actions intended to improve it. Cohort analysis, retention and churn metrics, and unit economics make it useful beyond a narrow billing-failure dashboard.

RedChurn reads subscription events and provider webhooks without changing products, prices or subscriptions. That separation suits teams that want recovery workflows alongside their existing billing setup. RevenueCat supports email and in-app flows, while Superwall and Polar support email; teams relying on the latter integrations should not expect the same in-app options.

Key features

Billing recovery and cancellation saves

When webhooks identify billing trouble, RedChurn can send dunning emails or show a card-update prompt the next time a subscriber opens the app. Cancellation saves use native iOS and Android screens, with email follow-ups within 48 hours. The store-compliant native flows are a practical advantage for teams seeking to retain subscribers without replacing their billing arrangements.

Trial retention and win-back

For trial cancellations, RedChurn can send reminder emails at J-3 and J-1 and show an in-app save flow when a user tries to cancel. After a subscription expires, multi-step email sequences and prompts on return visits can seek reactivation, which is tracked in Red Center. These flows give mobile teams several chances to intervene, though email and in-app capabilities vary by integration.

Delivery and setup

Emails can come from the customer’s domain through Resend, while push uses the customer’s FCM and APNs credentials. The optional SDK is under 200 KB, and setup can start without an app release. That lowers the initial deployment burden, but teams still need the relevant provider integration and, for push, their own credentials.

Pricing

Starter costs 0.00 USD per free (billed monthly). It covers up to 50 active subscribers, one app and 30 days of retention history. That is a useful no-cost starting point for a small app, but the subscriber ceiling and short history make it a poor fit once a service needs broader reporting or room to grow.

Growth is available from 500 subscribers, with unlimited apps and three years of retention history. Its price is custom pricing. The longer history and app allowance suit teams operating at larger scale, but the jump from Starter’s 50-subscriber cap means teams between those thresholds should confirm the appropriate plan before committing.

Platforms

RedChurn supports Android, iOS, web and API. Its native cancellation flows and in-app prompts make the mobile platforms especially relevant; teams using web or API should weigh those alongside the available email workflows and provider integrations.

Who it's for

RedChurn is best suited to mobile subscription businesses that want analytics and automated retention in one system, particularly those already using RevenueCat, Superwall or Polar. Starter can serve a small app exploring these workflows. A growing portfolio that needs multiple apps and longer retention history is better matched to Growth, subject to custom pricing.

Pros and cons

Connected reporting and intervention: Red Center pairs subscription metrics and cohorts with save attribution, so teams can assess retention flows against the outcomes they track.
Several recovery moments: Billing, trial cancellation and expired subscriptions each have distinct email or in-app interventions.
Does not alter billing terms: Reading events and webhooks lets teams add recovery without changing products, prices or subscriptions.
Integration capabilities differ: Superwall and Polar support email, while only RevenueCat is stated to support both email and in-app flows.
Starter is tightly capped: Fifty active subscribers, one app and 30 days of history limit its usefulness as an app expands.
Growth requires a pricing conversation: Its 500-subscriber entry point, custom pricing and expanded history suit larger needs, but do not give buyers a fixed price to compare.

Alternatives

For a wider category comparison, browse Subscription Analytics Software.

GrowPanel is worth considering for subscription reporting when its free tier’s $200k ARR ceiling, single connector and unlimited users fit better than RedChurn’s mobile recovery focus.
Kometrics may suit teams that want every feature free while tracked MRR stays under $1,000, or a $15/month annualized paid option.
MRR.AI is a web-only alternative with a free dashboard covering core MRR, ARR and churn metrics and 30-day history.
SimpleSubscription is a better match for teams seeking a web-based subscription widget and customer portal alongside failed-payment recovery, with a free tier up to 100 active subscribers.
ProfitWell Metrics offers free subscription analytics with data updates every 3–6 hours, making it an option for readers who do not need RedChurn’s live reporting and retention flows.
CashSDK Revenue Analytics starts at 25.00 USD per month and includes the first $5,000 of monthly tracked revenue, then charges 0.5% of tracked revenue; consider it when that revenue-based pricing and its broader platform support fit better.
Qonversion may fit teams wanting all features, unlimited apps and seats, with free service at or under $7,000 MTR and paid pricing based on monthly tracked revenue.
ChartMogul is an alternative for web-based subscription analytics, with a free tier under $120K ARR and a Pro plan billed annually.

Verdict

Choose RedChurn if your mobile app needs subscription analytics tied to billing recovery, cancellation saves and win-back flows without changing its billing setup. Its clearest advantage is the connection between measured churn and targeted interventions; look elsewhere if you need a generous free subscriber ceiling, a published Growth price or the same in-app capabilities across all integrations.
