Overview

Tarot Routing is best suited to delivery operations that need route planning and driver workflows alongside customer-facing tracking and updates. Its strongest case is breadth: dispatch, delivery execution and communication sit in one platform, while pricing scales by vehicle on the main plans.

Route planning can account for time windows, vehicle capacity, territories and driver shifts, with real-time re-optimisation for changing conditions. That makes it a more operationally focused choice than a basic delivery tracker, though the per-vehicle Business and Enterprise charges matter for fleets that need the mobile app and management features.

For a wider category comparison, see Courier Management Software.

Key features

Planning and driver workflows

The planner handles several constraints that shape real delivery schedules, and dispatch automation can reduce manual coordination. Drivers can scan barcodes, complete vehicle checklists, record proof of delivery with photos and signatures, and communicate with planners. Offline delivery support is useful when a run passes through areas with unreliable connectivity.

Google Maps, Waze and Apple Maps integration gives drivers navigation options without making Tarot Routing’s own driver app the only route to directions. The combination of planning controls and field workflows will suit teams managing their own fleet; it may be more than a small operation needs if it only wants basic shipment status.

Visibility, notifications and data

Live GPS tracking, real-time ETAs and customer tracking links let dispatchers and recipients follow delivery progress. Automated SMS and email notifications can use customised message content, giving teams a way to communicate without composing each update manually. Driver location tracking stops when a driver completes a run and closes the runsheet, a useful boundary for location privacy.

Excel and CSV imports and exports cover familiar bulk data workflows, while a REST API supports JSON exchange. Business and Enterprise include ERP integrations; custom integrations are reserved for Enterprise. The pricing page also lists HTTPS, GDPR compliance, hashed and salted passwords, OWASP Top 10 compliance, short-lived access tokens, monitored in-app support chat and full user documentation for the plans shown.

Pricing

Tarot Routing has no free plan. Its homepage offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card required, so teams can evaluate the service before committing; the trial does not replace an ongoing free tier.

API: 0.08 USD per month, billed Pay only for what you use, with unlimited jobs. This is the lowest-cost route for API-led use, rather than the full driver-app package.
Business: 64.00 USD per month, billed per vehicle per month. It includes Android and iOS driver apps, route planning and delivery management features. This is the practical fit for teams that need the driver workflow, but costs rise with each vehicle.
Enterprise: 104.00 USD per month, billed per vehicle per month. It adds organisational access control, single sign-on, ERP integrations and white labelling to Business. It suits organisations that need those controls and integrations; otherwise the Business tier avoids paying for them.

The API plan’s usage-based billing differs from the per-vehicle pricing of the app-focused plans. The available plan details do not give an API usage rate beyond the stated 0.08 USD per month, so buyers should confirm how their usage will be charged before relying on a budget estimate.

Platforms

Tarot Routing supports Android, iOS, web and API access. The driver app is available for Android and iOS; API access supports system-to-system exchange.

Who it's for

Tarot Routing is a strong fit for delivery teams that need to coordinate route constraints, automate dispatch, equip drivers with mobile workflows and keep customers updated. Its tracking privacy boundary and integration options add practical value for organisations managing ongoing delivery operations. It is less compelling for buyers seeking a free plan or a predictable flat cost independent of vehicle count.

Pros and cons

Pro: Planning accounts for time windows, vehicle capacities, territories and shifts, with real-time re-optimisation for changing routes.
Pro: Driver app workflows include barcode scanning, photo-and-signature proof of delivery, checklists, planner communication and offline delivery.
Pro: Live tracking, ETAs, customer links and automated SMS or email cover both internal visibility and recipient updates.
Pro: Location tracking ends when the driver closes the completed runsheet, limiting tracking beyond the run.
Con: There is no free plan, and Business and Enterprise are charged per vehicle each month, which can make costs climb with fleet size.
Con: ERP integrations are limited to Business and Enterprise, while custom integrations are Enterprise-only.

Alternatives

Choose InstaDispatch if a free plan matters: it offers a free tier as well as a free trial, though its listed free-plan details do not state a shipment allowance. Consider Locus Last-Mile Delivery Software as another paid option with API and web platforms.

Detrack is worth comparing if its Pro tier’s 29.00 USD per month price, unlimited sub-users, 10 photos per job and five years of data storage fit your priorities. OnTime 360 may suit teams looking for a 49.00 USD per month Core plan with 100 shipments and unlimited users and customers, while accounting for its $0.35 charge per shipment above that allowance and $99 onboarding.

CourierManager is another paid option with a free trial; its Starter plan costs 100.00 EUR per month and includes 1,000 shipments, with additional shipments charged at €0.35. Zippykind may suit teams preferring per-delivery pricing: Flex is 0.23 USD per month, billed at $0.23 per delivery, with no minimum or contract and unlimited users and drivers.

Datatrac is a paid option available on web, iOS and Android. DispatchTrack is a paid option with API access.

Verdict

Choose Tarot Routing if your delivery operation needs constraint-aware route planning, capable driver workflows and customer visibility in one system. Its breadth is the main reason to choose it; vehicle-based monthly pricing and the lack of a free tier are the clearest reasons to look elsewhere, especially for smaller fleets or buyers who need a firm cost that does not grow with vehicles.
