Overview

PushPress is gym management software for independent gyms and studios that want scheduling, billing, member administration, and marketing tools in one system. It is strongest for operators who need more than a booking calendar; its free plan is a useful way to avoid a monthly software fee, while higher payment-processing rates can make it a poor fit for businesses collecting substantial card or ACH revenue.

Key features

Scheduling and member operations

Recurring class templates, capacity controls, waitlists, coach substitutions, and automated handling of no-shows or late cancellations cover the moving parts of a busy class schedule. Online booking, digital waivers, member management, and automated billing broaden the system beyond scheduling. That breadth should suit a gym consolidating routine operations, though the processing rates deserve close attention when choosing a plan.

Marketing and integrations

PushPress Grow adds lead capture forms and landing pages, automated email and text messaging, social integrations, WhatsApp, and member-engagement workflows. It is the more relevant choice for a studio seeking CRM and outreach tools, but its $329.00 USD per month price is a substantial step beyond the core gym plans. Integrations include Stripe, Zapier, Slack, Mailchimp, Google Analytics, Google Calendar, Facebook Ads, HybridAF, and Kisi. HybridAF and Kisi can connect door access permissions to membership status.

Apps, support, and migration

The Member App works on iOS, Android, and the web; the web-based Control Panel supports desktop, laptop, and mobile browsers. Free customers receive self-serve resources and AI support, with a 48-hour response time for human assistance. Pro and Max include AI support and live human responses, with optional video calls. PushPress also says its onboarding team can import member and business data from other gym platforms, which may ease a switch for an established operation.

Pricing

PushPress uses a freemium model, with plans aimed at different needs. The right comparison is not just the monthly fee: payment-processing rates vary materially between Free, Pro, and Max.

Free: 0.00 USD per free, with no monthly fees. It includes unlimited leads, admins, members, and staff, but charges 4.99% + .30 for credit cards and 2.89% + .30 for ACH. It suits a gym prioritizing zero monthly software cost, but the higher processing rates can outweigh that saving as transactions grow.
Pro: 159.00 USD per month, with unlimited leads, admins, members, and staff. Processing is 2.89% + .30 for credit cards and 0.79% + .30 for ACH. This is the core paid option for businesses that can justify a monthly fee in exchange for lower listed rates.
Max: 229.00 USD per month, with the same unlimited counts and processing rates of 2.75% + .30 for credit cards and 0.79% + .30 for ACH. Its lower card rate may appeal to a higher-volume gym, though the difference from Pro should be weighed against the added monthly cost.
Train: 79.00 USD per month for workout tracking for up to 20 clients. The cap makes it a focused option for smaller coaching groups, not a substitute for an unlimited client workout-tracking plan.
Grow: 329.00 USD per month for a full CRM with automated workflows, email/SMS, and websites. It fits businesses that prioritize lead and member marketing tools.
Branded App: 8197.00 USD per month for a white-labeled mobile app, a specialized option for operators who need their own branded app experience.
Full Stack: 559.00 USD per month for all features combined in one package, for buyers who prefer a bundled suite to separate products.

Platforms

PushPress supports Android, iOS, and web. The Member App spans all three, while staff can use the browser-based Control Panel on desktop, laptop, or mobile browsers.

Who it's for

PushPress is aimed at small, mid-size, and established gyms and studios, including CrossFit, martial arts, strength, and boutique fitness businesses. Its broad operational coverage and unlimited member counts on Free, Pro, and Max suit organizations that want room to grow. A business that only needs workout tracking for a small group may find Train more focused; one that primarily needs CRM features should compare Grow's separate price with its actual marketing needs.

Pros and cons

Pro: Scheduling includes waitlists, capacity management, substitutions, and automated no-show or late-cancel handling, useful for classes with changing attendance and coaches.
Pro: Unlimited leads, admins, members, and staff on Free, Pro, and Max avoid a listed headcount ceiling on those plans.
Pro: Data migration support and membership-linked door access integrations can reduce operational friction during a platform change.
Con: Free's 4.99% + .30 card and 2.89% + .30 ACH rates are markedly higher than the paid plans' listed rates, so no monthly fee does not necessarily mean lower overall cost.
Con: Marketing CRM, workout tracking, and the branded app are priced as distinct plans, and Grow and Branded App carry much higher monthly costs than Pro or Max.

RhinoFit Sign-In Kiosk is a freemium alternative to consider when sign-in kiosk needs are central.
XODA is another freemium option available on web, iOS, and Android.

Zen Planner is an alternative for studios considering member-tier pricing, with Zen Planner Studio at 99.00 USD per month for 0–45 active members.
Flexync is a freemium alternative available on the web.

Verdict

PushPress is a strong fit for independent gyms that want class operations, payments, member tools, and marketing options under one provider, especially when unlimited member counts matter. Choose it for that breadth and the free entry point, but compare expected processing costs against Pro or Max before settling on Free; businesses seeking only a narrow feature set may be better served by a more focused plan or alternative.
