Overview

SmartSolve brings complaint intake, evaluation, reporting, and quality workflows into one platform. Its clearest strength is supporting consistent complaint and adverse-event decisions across different regulatory markets, while linking complaint work with other SmartSolve quality modules. Organizations that do not need that breadth may find it more system than their case volumes or workflows warrant.

Key features

Intake and evaluation

Complaints can arrive through web forms, a secure Quality intake portal, ERP or CRM integrations, web portals, and IQVIA Vigilance Detect. The range can accommodate internal systems as well as field personnel and extended demand-chain partners such as healthcare professionals, clinical investigators, and customers. Configurable decision trees help separate complaints and adverse events from other inquiries and guide investigation and reporting, supporting more consistent case handling.

Regulatory reporting and quality workflows

Preconfigured decision trees support reportability workflows for the FDA, EU, Health Canada, Japan, Australia, UK, and Switzerland. Electronic reporting support and integration with CDRH, MedDRA, and IMDRF codes make the regulatory workflow more relevant to organizations working across those markets. Complaint Management also connects with SmartSolve Nonconformance, CAPA, Change Management, and Document Management, which can keep complaint-related quality work connected rather than isolated.

AI, analytics, and controls

The fact sheet describes NLP extraction, generative AI assistance, automated triage, decision support, translation, and predictive analytics. These capabilities are aimed at supporting complaint processing and review, though organizations should assess how they fit their own controls and workflows. Built-in reporting and trending cover recurring complaints, resolution times, and historical data; Quality Intelligence uses Microsoft Power BI.

Role-based security, password authentication, and audit trails support FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and EU Annex 11 compliance. SmartSolve is ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 certified and runs on Microsoft Azure. Those controls are relevant for regulated quality operations, but do not remove the need to assess an organization's own compliance requirements.

Pricing

SmartSolve Complaint Management: custom pricing. IQVIA directs prospective customers to request a conversation through its contact form; a free plan, trial terms, and published seat or usage limits are not offered. This sales-led model suits organizations prepared to scope a quality platform with the vendor, but makes straightforward budget comparison difficult for smaller buyers.

Platforms

SmartSolve is a cloud deployment with Android, iOS, and web platforms. That combination supports access across mobile and browser environments while keeping deployment cloud-based.

Who it's for

SmartSolve is a strong fit for life sciences organizations managing global complaints, regulatory reporting, and post-market surveillance, particularly those seeking to connect complaint handling with nonconformance, CAPA, change, and document management. Teams needing only basic complaint tracking, or wanting transparent self-serve pricing and trial access, should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pro: Multiple intake routes, including business-system integrations and a partner-oriented portal, support complaint collection from varied sources.
Pro: Market-specific reportability workflows and electronic reporting integrations address the needs of global regulatory operations.
Pro: Complaint work connects with other SmartSolve quality modules, and analytics track trends and resolution times.
Con: Custom pricing and a contact-form sales process make costs harder to compare before engaging IQVIA.
Con: The platform's regulatory and quality breadth may be unnecessary for teams with simple complaint workflows.
