Overview

Infor offers WFM on its own or alongside Infor HCM. Its planning tools draw on historical results, promotions, and weather to estimate labor demand, while scheduling takes account of employee skills, availability, and preferences. That combination can help organizations coordinate staffing across changing operating conditions; smaller teams with uncomplicated shifts may find the platform broader than they need.

Infor was founded in 2002 and is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. The company began as an ERP provider focused mainly on manufacturing.

Key features

Forecasting and scheduling

Machine-learning and adaptive forecasting covers timescales from minutes to years, giving planners a way to consider both immediate coverage and longer-term labor needs. Coverage optimization and intraday management are supported. Rules-based scheduling and shift replacement help teams respond to changes, though organizations should weigh those capabilities against the work of fitting the system to their own staffing rules.

Time, attendance, and payroll

WFM captures time in real time, applies complex pay rules, supports time-off requests, and produces audit-ready compliance reports. These tools are relevant to employers with demanding timekeeping requirements. Payroll close creates an employee pay information export that can be transferred manually or automatically to the payroll system, so teams should account for that handoff rather than assume payroll processing is fully integrated.

Healthcare and integrations

Infor Clinical Science can derive staffing workloads from nurse documentation through Clinical Bridge, which connects with electronic medical records. Infor lists WFM, including Clinical Science, among its HIPAA-attested products. WFM also has documented integration paths with HR Talent and Infor OS Portal, including employee access to HR and WFM features in Employee Hub. These options are most pertinent to organizations already working with Infor systems; API setup is documented through Infor ION.

Pricing

Infor Workforce Management uses custom pricing, with a quote requested from Infor. There are no published tiers to compare, so organizations should seek a proposal based on their workforce and deployment needs. WFM is a paid product, offered either as a stand-alone system or alongside Infor HCM.

Platforms

The platform supports Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows, as well as API access. Mobile WFM is an HTML5 application; the Self Service Portal is designed for portrait use on phones and also works on desktop. Current and previous Android and iOS versions are supported, with Chrome on Android and Safari or Chrome on iOS. Desktop browser support includes Edge Chromium, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari; Safari is certified only on macOS, and Windows 10 and 11 are supported for browsers.

Who it's for

Infor WFM is aimed at large, complex frontline workforces, with use cases in healthcare, manufacturing, public sector, and retail. It is a stronger fit when demand forecasting, intricate scheduling, attendance rules, and compliance reporting need to work together. Organizations looking only for basic shift planning, or seeking a payroll connection without an export step, should compare alternatives.

Pros and cons

Broad workforce planning: Forecasting spans minutes to years and uses historical results, planned promotions, and weather, supporting both short- and long-range labor planning.
Operational scheduling controls: Demand, skills, availability, preferences, rules-based automation, and shift replacement address the constraints that make large-scale scheduling difficult.
Useful healthcare capabilities: Clinical Science can calculate workloads from nurse documentation through an EMR integration, and the product is HIPAA-attested.
Payroll handoff requires attention: Pay information is exported for transfer to payroll, manually or automatically, rather than described as a direct in-product payroll connection.
Custom pricing: A quote-based purchase makes it harder to compare costs without engaging Infor.

Alternatives

For another enterprise workforce management option, compare ADP WorkForce Suite, which has quote-based pricing. Retail-focused organizations can consider Logile Workforce Management, an enterprise retail workforce management suite priced by quote, or StoreForce, which invites buyers to request a demo and pricing. Aspect Workforce uses per-seat pricing tailored to team size, making it worth considering when that pricing structure suits the buying process.

Healthcare organizations evaluating scheduling options can also look at ShiftWizard, which uses organization-specific proposals and guided implementation. symplr Directory is an enterprise healthcare provider data management product, rather than a direct scheduling comparison. Verint Workforce Management is another enterprise workforce management option with sales-led pricing. ZebraDesigner is a distinct alternative with a free Essentials plan for basic barcode label and tag design and printing, including support for Zebra Link-OS and Link-OS Basic printers.

Verdict

Choose Infor Workforce Management if you run a large frontline operation and need forecasting, scheduling, timekeeping, and compliance in one system, particularly if Infor HCM or its healthcare tools fit your environment. Look elsewhere if transparent pricing or a more direct payroll workflow is a priority.
