Overview

Residents can submit requests through web, mobile, phone, email, SMS or walk-ins, after which assignment rules, status updates and SLA timers help staff track progress. Combining that workflow with constituent records, outreach, GIS and reporting makes Ready311 more than a request inbox: it can support a jurisdiction's service process from intake through closure and public reporting.

That breadth will matter most where departments need shared routing and visibility. A small team seeking only basic case tracking may find the wider platform unnecessary, and custom annual pricing makes budget comparison less straightforward.

Key features

Intake, case handling and field work

Requests from multiple channels can be assigned and monitored against SLA timers. Resident iOS and Android apps support photo and GPS reporting, while the staff field app supports assignments, status updates and closures. This pairing can help connect a resident's report to field resolution without limiting intake to an app. Case status changes are recorded in an audit log, and role-based menu permissions help control staff access.

Notifications and mapping

Mass notifications support SMS, email, mobile push and voice broadcasts, targeted by boundary, sub-jurisdiction or subscription topic. For agencies that need to communicate by geography or resident interest, this is more flexible than a single general mailing. PostGIS-based mapping includes request and heat maps, boundary editing, public map portals and custom layers, giving staff and residents different ways to view service activity.

Reporting and integrations

Dashboards, weekly performance digests, public statistics pages and PDF or CSV exports give staff several ways to review activity and share results. Open311 endpoints, a v2 JSON API and outbound submissions to upstream Open311 endpoints support integration with other service workflows. Stripe-powered payments are also supported. Token-based authentication with per-key scopes gives API access defined boundaries.

Staff two-factor authentication can use Google Authenticator, email PIN or SMS PIN. The company says it runs a 99.5% uptime SLA. Its privacy policy says personal information is kept behind secured networks with limited access and sensitive information is encrypted using SSL; it also says the company does not use vulnerability scanning or scanning to PCI standards. Agencies weighing security controls should take that limitation into account.

Pricing

Ready311 is paid software with custom pricing. Its Custom Plan uses annual contracts billed up front and aligned with the jurisdiction's fiscal year. It includes unlimited staff accounts, iOS and Android mobile apps, API access and integrations, a dedicated account manager and data migration assistance. No staff-seat cap is stated for this plan, which suits multi-department deployments better than a per-user model; the upfront annual commitment is less attractive to agencies that need a short-term or month-to-month option.

Ready311 says small jurisdictions are usually live in 2–4 weeks, while multi-department rollouts involving integrations and data migration typically take 6–12 weeks. The account contact and email and phone support run Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST, so agencies needing weekend or round-the-clock assistance should look elsewhere.

Platforms

Ready311 supports Android, iOS, web and API access. Resident apps cover reporting, while the staff field app supports assignments, status updates and closures. The API and Open311 options suit jurisdictions connecting the service workflow to other systems.

Who it's for

Ready311 is a strong fit for local governments that want residents to report issues across several channels and need staff to route, resolve, map and report on that work. Its scale claim spans single-department pilots through county-wide deployments routing tens of thousands of requests per month. The combination is most compelling when GIS, public-facing information and multichannel outreach are part of the same service operation, rather than separate needs.

It is a weaker fit for a small office that only needs a lightweight case tool, or for a jurisdiction unable to commit to annual upfront payment and weekday-only support. Multi-department buyers should also allow for a longer implementation window when migrations and integrations are involved.

Pros and cons

Pros: Intake across web, mobile, phone, email, SMS and walk-ins gives residents multiple ways to report issues.
Pros: GIS, targeted notifications, case workflows and reporting sit alongside one another, which can reduce the need to split service operations across separate tools.
Pros: Unlimited staff accounts, API access and migration assistance are included in the annual Custom Plan, supporting larger or more integrated deployments.
Cons: Custom pricing and annual upfront billing make costs harder to compare and require a full-year commitment.
Cons: Support is limited to weekday business hours, and complex multi-department implementation can take 6–12 weeks.
Cons: The privacy policy says vulnerability and PCI-standard scanning are not used, a notable limitation for agencies assessing security practices.

Alternatives

Public Sector CRM Software is the broader category guide for comparing this kind of product. Choose Casework if a free, web-and-API casework option is a better starting point: its free plan is 0.00 GBP per month per councillor and includes one councillor seat, but it does not match Ready311's stated resident intake, GIS and outreach breadth. efficy Public Sector CRM is a paid Android, iOS, web and API option with Sales and Customer Service plans at 69.00 EUR per month per user; consider it when a per-user CRM plan is preferable to Ready311's custom annual contract.

GovXRM is another paid, web-and-API option. OpenGov Accounts Payable is a paid web-and-API option from OpenGov Accounts Payable. eCasework is a paid option with a free trial and Android, iOS and web support; its Individuals plan costs 100.00 GBP per year and includes unlimited cases, up to three caseworkers, unlimited contacts and a dedicated support team, making it worth considering for a smaller team focused on casework.

Nagrik Political Suite is a paid option with a free trial and Android, iOS, self-hosted and web support. Salesboom is a paid CRM with a free trial across web, iOS and Android; its Solo plan costs 249.00 USD per year and is limited to one user and 25 MB of storage. CaseMate is a paid web option with a free trial, for readers comparing a different kind of case-management product.

Verdict

Choose Ready311 if your jurisdiction needs a connected 311 workflow spanning resident intake, staff field handling, GIS, outreach and reporting, and can support an annual upfront contract. Its main advantage is the breadth of that municipal service toolkit; its main reasons to look elsewhere are custom pricing, weekday-only support and the stated security-scanning limitation.
