Overview

GoFundMe Pro is fundraising software for nonprofits, bringing online campaigns, events, peer-to-peer fundraising and donor reporting together. It suits US-headquartered organizations that want several fundraising channels in one system; organizations based elsewhere should look elsewhere.

Its breadth is the central appeal, but plan-specific fees and separate payment processing mean nonprofits should assess total donation costs alongside the features they need.

Key features

A drag-and-drop builder lets teams create fundraising pages without coding, while branded, embeddable donation forms give organizations a way to collect gifts on their own websites. Recurring gifts, Venmo and Apple Pay expand the ways donors can contribute. These tools cover common online fundraising needs, though payment processing remains separate.

Beyond standalone campaigns, the platform supports peer-to-peer and team fundraising, livestreams, live events, registration and check-in, plus Nonprofit Pages on GoFundMe. That range makes it a stronger fit for organizations running multiple kinds of appeals than for teams seeking only a basic donation form.

GoFundMe Intelligence uses AI and campaign data to personalize donation forms. Reporting covers donors, transactions, campaigns and channels, with advanced campaign reporting. Integrations include Salesforce, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Constant Contact, Mailchimp and HubSpot. The maker describes native Salesforce connections for Nonprofit Cloud, Education Cloud and Sales Cloud, with NPSP support; advanced integrations and API access are associated with the custom-priced plan.

GoFundMe Pro says it maintains PCI DSS Level 1 compliance and uses AES-256 encryption, TLS 1.2 or higher, tokenization and OWASP-aligned secure coding. It also describes machine-learning fraud detection, multi-factor authentication, ongoing security monitoring and role-based access controls. All plans include customer support and training through GoFundMe Pro Academy, including live sessions and on-demand resources; optional add-ons may apply.

Pricing

GoFundMe Pro is freemium, with a free plan and paid custom pricing. Payment processing is separate, and additional fees or add-ons may apply, so a zero-subscription-fee plan does not mean donations are cost-free to process.

Essentials: custom pricing is not published. Designed for nonprofits with annual revenue under $1 million, it has zero subscription fees and no setup costs, with access to the core product suite. Additional fees and add-ons may apply. This is the clearest fit for smaller nonprofits that want core tools without a subscription charge, but teams should account for processing and other applicable fees.
Custom pricing: built for growing nonprofits with annual revenue over $1 million. It offers a flexible fundraising platform, advanced integrations and API access. The pricing page describes an annual upfront subscription plus a transaction fee per donation. This tier may suit larger organizations needing those capabilities, but the upfront commitment and per-donation charge merit careful budgeting.

Both plans include support and training. No seat limits, trial period, renewal terms or free-plan quotas are specified in these plan terms.

Platforms

GoFundMe Pro is available on the web and through an API. Its web access serves teams managing campaigns and donor activity, while API access matters especially to organizations that need custom connections; advanced integrations and API access are tied to custom pricing.

Who it's for

GoFundMe Pro is best for nonprofits headquartered in the United States that need a broad mix of digital campaigns, peer-to-peer appeals, events and reporting. Their programs can operate anywhere in the world, but the organization itself must meet the US headquarters requirement.

Smaller nonprofits under $1 million in annual revenue may find Essentials appealing for its lack of subscription and setup costs. Larger organizations seeking advanced integrations and API access are the more natural fit for custom pricing. A nonprofit outside the US, or one prioritizing predictable total donation costs, should compare alternatives before committing.

Pros and cons

Pro: Multiple campaign, event and peer-to-peer channels sit alongside recurring giving and donor reporting, supporting varied fundraising programs in one platform.
Pro: Branded embeddable forms, Venmo and Apple Pay give nonprofits several ways to fit donation collection into their web presence and donor payment preferences.
Pro: Essentials removes subscription and setup costs for eligible smaller nonprofits, while all plans include support and training.
Con: US headquarters are required, excluding nonprofits based elsewhere even if they serve international programs.
Con: Payment processing is separate, and Essentials may carry additional fees and add-ons; the no-subscription structure alone does not reveal total fundraising costs.
Con: The larger-organization plan involves an annual upfront subscription and per-donation transaction fee, with custom pricing rather than a published price.

Alternatives

For organizations weighing a different approach, these options serve distinct needs:

FundRazr is worth comparing for a free plan with no platform fee; its Optional Tips plan still has payment processing charges of 2.9% + $0.30, with 95% of donors covering fees.
JustGiving may suit charities looking for a free Start plan and mobile apps as well as web access; standard payment processing fees and a 5% Gift Aid reclaim fee apply.
WhyDonate offers a free plan with no platform fee or monthly cost, though payment processing applies and recurring donations incur a 3% platform fee from the second payment.
Milaap is another free option, with zero platform fees, actual payment processing charges and a voluntary tipping model.
LaunchGood offers free fundraising with no platform fee; card processing is 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction, with an optional checkout tip.
DonorsChoose is a free web option for teacher projects; classroom project requests have a $100 minimum and may remain posted for up to four months.
AdoptAClassroom.org is an option for eligible US educators, with donations provided as online credit for marketplace or Teacher Choice purchases.
M-Changa offers a free fundraiser on iOS and web, with one active fundraiser per phone line and a minimum balance required for withdrawals.

Verdict

GoFundMe Pro is a strong candidate for US-headquartered nonprofits that want campaigns, events, peer-to-peer fundraising and reporting under one roof. Its channel breadth and support make it worth considering, especially for smaller organizations eligible for Essentials. Look elsewhere if your nonprofit is based outside the US or if separate processing costs and plan-specific charges make total donation expenses difficult to justify.
