Overview

GoComet is a global-trade platform for shippers managing freight procurement, shipment visibility, and related logistics workflows. It is best suited to enterprise teams coordinating shipments and external partners across multiple transport modes. Its breadth is a strength, but buyers should weigh that against custom pricing and access controls that can cost extra.

Founded in 2016, GoComet is headquartered in Singapore. The company describes its platform as serving global shippers, with more than 500 enterprise customers across 70-plus countries.

Key features

Shipment visibility

GoTrack tracks ocean, air, road, rail, and parcel shipments, with predictive ETAs and exception detection. Real-time location, API access, and webhook support make it relevant to teams that need shipment status within wider systems and workflows. Multimodal coverage is useful for diverse freight operations; teams focused on a single mode may not need such a broad platform.

Procurement and partner workflows

GoProcure supports structured RFQs, blind bidding, quote comparison, negotiation, and award records. Those controls give freight teams a consistent way to evaluate and document procurement decisions. Service Tickets let carriers, brokers, suppliers, and other partners respond by email or through lightweight portals without a GoComet login, reducing the need to bring every outside party onto the platform.

Invoice reconciliation

GoInvoice uses OCR to read invoices and compare them with purchase orders, shipments, contracts, rates, and supporting documents. Flagging discrepancies can help teams identify mismatches across freight charges, though the value depends on having the relevant records available for comparison.

Integrations, security, and support

Integration options include SFTP, REST APIs, GoComet's custom service, email, and EDI. Supported platforms include SAP, Oracle, Navision, Openbravo, and in-house ERPs; outputs can be JSON, CSV, or files in any format for SFTP and email integrations. That range suits organizations connecting varied systems, though implementation needs will differ by setup.

GoComet describes HTTPS protection using SHA-2 and 2048-bit TLS, activity auditing, password-based access, and daily database scans. Its Trust Center includes GDPR and SOC 2 Type 2 compliance documents for 2023, 2024, and 2025; private documents can be requested. IP-range restrictions for user logins are an extra-cost option, a consideration for teams that require tighter access controls.

Support includes weekly remote health checkups, dedicated support, TMS training, and 24X6 availability.

Pricing

GoComet uses a paid pricing model with custom pricing. The site also labels container tracking and several market-intelligence tools “Try For Free,” but does not give a trial duration. Treat those as limited ways to try specific tools rather than evidence of a free tier for the full platform.

With no published plan prices or plan breakdown, buyers cannot compare seat allowances, quotas, renewal terms, or which workflows are included at each price. Teams evaluating GoComet should confirm those terms directly before committing.

Platforms

GoComet supports web, Android, and API access. Its Android app focuses on inviting freight forwarders, creating enquiries, running reverse auctions, and comparing quotes. That makes mobile access particularly relevant to procurement workflows; shipment visibility and the broader logistics platform also have web and API options.

Who it's for

GoComet is aimed at global shippers that need to coordinate procurement, shipment tracking, invoice checks, and partner responses in one logistics operation. Its five-mode tracking and ERP integration options suit organizations with varied freight flows and existing systems. A team seeking only basic container tracking, or a buyer that needs transparent prices before engaging, may find its scope and custom pricing a poor fit.

Pros and cons

Pro: Tracking spans ocean, air, road, rail, and parcel, with predictive ETAs and exception detection for teams handling multimodal freight.
Pro: Procurement, invoice reconciliation, and partner service tickets cover workflows beyond shipment status alone.
Pro: Multiple integration methods and formats can accommodate different ERP and data-transfer setups.
Con: Custom pricing and no public plan breakdown make it difficult to assess cost or compare included allowances before a sales conversation.
Con: IP-limited logins cost extra, which may be a drawback for buyers that require this access control.
Con: Some private compliance documents require an access request, so they are not immediately available to every evaluator.

Alternatives

For shipment visibility, compare GoComet with the Transportation Visibility Software and Container Tracking Software directories.

Choose ShipsGo if a pay-as-you-track model fits better: its listed option costs 1000.00 USD per once for 500 credits, valid for one year, with one credit per new shipment tracking. Its free plan and free trial may also suit buyers who want to start with shipment tracking rather than evaluate a broader logistics platform.

Terminal49 is a better fit for a small team needing a free container-tracking start: its Free plan supports up to 10 active containers and three users, with shipment details, basic notifications, and 50 document credits.

Trucker Tools is another freemium option with a free plan and web, iOS, and Android access. Flexport Control Tower is a paid alternative with API and web platforms.

Trimble Visibility offers a freemium option with a free plan and web access. Descartes Customs and Regulatory Compliance is a paid web and API option whose listed modules focus on imports, exports, and NCTS transit movements.

Gnosis Freight is a paid alternative with unlimited users, a dedicated support team, container-tracking milestones, demurrage and detention alarms, and global disruption tracking in its Essentials plan.

Verdict

GoComet is a strong candidate for global shippers that want multimodal visibility alongside procurement, invoice reconciliation, and partner workflows. Its integrated breadth is the main reason to choose it; custom pricing and the extra charge for IP-limited logins are reasons to look elsewhere if budget certainty or that access control is essential.
