Overview

Focus Keeper brings timed work sessions, task planning and progress tracking together in a cross-device productivity service. It suits people who want a timer tied to a task list and a record of their work, rather than a standalone countdown. Its strongest case is the combination of automatic session logging and synced history; the main caveat is that subscription cancellation does not refund the current billing cycle.

Key features

The standard timer pairs 25 minutes of focus with a 5-minute short break and a 25-minute long break. Custom intervals let users adapt that rhythm, and breaks can start automatically, which reduces the need to manage every transition. The maker describes the method as scientifically proven, but the practical appeal is its familiar, configurable structure.

A built-in task list connects sessions to work the user intends to complete. Sessions are logged automatically, then presented in charts showing focus time and work patterns. Focus Keeper also describes identifying focus patterns and tracking habits, giving regular users a way to review more than a single day's timer totals. Those tools are most useful to people who will return to their history and adjust their routines; they matter less to someone seeking only a basic timer.

Sessions and tasks are saved automatically, and history can be accessed on any device. That continuity is useful for people who move between platforms, though the service's privacy policy says account and usage data can include contact details, task information, session durations, settings, IP address and browser activity. It says reasonable security measures are used but does not guarantee absolute security. Users retain ownership of personal data, while permanently deleted data cannot be recovered.

Pricing

Focus Keeper is freemium and offers a free plan, with a homepage option to sign up free. The free plan makes it possible to start using the service without a subscription, but no specific feature caps or paid prices are established, so it is not possible to judge where the free tier stops being sufficient or which premium tier is best value.

Premium features may require a subscription. Users can cancel at any time and keep premium access until the current billing period ends, but receive no refund for that period. That term is worth considering before subscribing, especially for anyone who may want to cancel mid-cycle.

Platforms

Focus Keeper is available on Android, iOS, macOS and the web. Its web service is described for personal or professional use, and cross-device access to saved sessions and tasks makes the multi-platform reach more meaningful than a simple list of supported systems.

Who it's for

Focus Keeper is a good fit for students and professionals who work in timed blocks, want tasks alongside the timer, and value charts or saved history for noticing patterns. It is less compelling for people who need transparent paid-plan pricing or precise free-tier limits before committing, or who only want a minimal countdown without logging and analytics.

Pros and cons

Pros: Timer flexibility. Custom intervals and automatic breaks support users who want a structured rhythm without manually starting each break.
Pros: Work context. A built-in task list and automatic session logging connect time tracking to planned work.
Pros: Cross-device history. Saved sessions and tasks can be accessed across Android, iOS, macOS and web.
Cons: Unclear plan boundaries. The free plan is available, but its caps and the premium prices are not established, complicating a cost comparison.
Cons: No current-cycle refund. Cancellation ends renewal but does not return payment for the active billing period.
Cons: Sensitive usage data. Task details and session durations may be part of usage data, and absolute security is not guaranteed.

Alternatives

Study Timer Apps and Pomodoro Timer Apps are useful starting points for comparing options in those categories.

Choose Pomofocus if Linux or Windows support matters, or if its free plan's estimate finish time, templates, visual reports and custom settings better match the way you plan sessions.

Brainscape is a better fit for learners who want pre-loaded flashcards or unlimited AI flashcard creation rather than a timer-centered workflow.

Consider EstudyLog for study tracking, particularly if unlimited sessions and support for up to 20 courses on its monthly plan suit your needs.

StudiesTimer may suit students looking for study groups, weekly goals and a to-do list, with a free plan that has stated limits such as three labels and one list of five items.

Pick Study Bunny if a free app download is preferable and ads, in-app purchases, and purchase-dependent features and backup are acceptable.

Be Focused is an alternative for Apple users who want Pro features across iPhone, iPad and Mac, with a monthly or yearly plan.

Bentodoro is a free alternative offering both timer modes and study tracking features.

Focusami is worth considering for web and Windows users who want private groups, standard themes and metric analytics in its free plan, or a premium plan priced at $2.99 per month.

Verdict

Choose Focus Keeper if you want a Pomodoro-style timer connected to tasks, automatic logging, charts and history you can carry across devices. That combination is its clearest advantage over a bare timer. Look elsewhere if you need fully clear plan limits and prices before deciding, or if the no-refund rule for the current subscription period is a deal-breaker.
