Overview

Finago eTasku is a bookkeeping document service for businesses that need to send receipts, travel expenses and other paperwork to an accountant. It suits teams that want mobile, email and web submission alongside shared document storage. The key dividing line is access: the free plan lets users read documents added by an accountant, while submitting their own paperwork requires a paid subscription.

Key features

Receipts can be captured in the mobile app, where OCR recognizes receipt data, then sent to the accountant. Users can also forward JPG or PDF files by email, share receipts from other apps or upload them through the web portal. Multiple intake routes are useful when employees collect receipts in different ways; eTasku’s OCR capability may reduce manual entry, but it does not establish how reliably every receipt will be read.

For travel expenses, eTasku calculates mileage reimbursements and domestic and foreign daily allowances from trip details. That makes it relevant to businesses that need to submit both receipts and trip-based claims, rather than manage receipt capture alone. A shared document space can hold payroll information, insurance certificates, meeting minutes and invoices, giving businesses a place for records beyond expense paperwork.

Integrations include Procountor, Netvisor, Fivaldi, Fennoa, Briox, SAP and Visma Nova, among others. The range may suit firms already using those systems, but compatibility with the accounting setup should be confirmed before committing. Accounting firms and accountants can use eTasku for free, and its accountant portal runs in a browser without installation.

Finago says stored receipts are kept for at least six years, backed up on three independent servers and remain downloadable after a customer stops using the service. It also says a renewed ISO 27001:2022 certificate covers nearly all Finago operations. Support is available through a help portal, weekday messaging from 09:00 to 16:00, and weekday phone support from 09:00 to 12:00. The maker also advertises eTasku customers a free company card, with credit, prepaid or both card types available.

Pricing

Prices exclude VAT. The free DOKUMENTTI plan costs €0 per user per month on a 12-month subscription and provides read access to documents added by the accountant. It is useful for employees who only need to consult shared records, but it does not cover submitting receipts or travel reports.

PRO costs €10.90 per user per month, billed as a 12-month subscription, or €130.80 per user after the trial, with VAT added. It includes receipts, travel expense reports and other documents for bookkeeping. The per-user charge makes seat count important: a business should weigh the annual commitment across everyone who needs to submit documents, not just the headline monthly rate. A 30-day trial offers time to assess the service before that commitment.

ENTERPRISE is for companies with more than 50 users and requires a quote; it also has a 12-month subscription period, with VAT added. Custom pricing makes it the relevant route for larger organizations, while smaller teams can compare the free read-only access with PRO’s paid submission features.

Platforms

eTasku is available on Android, iOS and the web. Mobile access supports receipt capture, while the web portal adds another route for submitting documents and gives accountants browser-based access without installation.

Who it's for

eTasku is a good fit for businesses whose bookkeeping workflow depends on getting employee receipts and travel claims to an accountant, especially when they also want a shared home for business documents. It is less compelling for a user who only wants to scan receipts for personal records: its core plans and features are organized around business bookkeeping, and the free option does not allow self-submission.

Pros and cons

Pro: Receipts can arrive through the app, email, app sharing or web portal, accommodating different employee habits.
Pro: Mileage and domestic and foreign daily allowance calculations extend the service beyond receipt handling.
Pro: Shared document storage, accounting integrations and a free accountant portal support collaboration between businesses and accounting firms.
Con: The free plan is limited to reading accountant-added documents; businesses need paid PRO to submit their own materials.
Con: PRO is an annual commitment priced per user, so its cost grows with the number of submitting employees.

Alternatives

For a wider comparison, browse Receipt Management Software. ExpenseBot is worth considering when free accountant or bookkeeper client management is the priority; client scanning requires the client’s own subscription or account. Receipt Reader AI offers a free tier with 10 AI scans per month, one account and PDF export, making it a possible fit for light, individual scanning needs.

OCR Receipt is an alternative for readers using Linux, macOS or Windows. Receipt Wrangler is a free, open-source, self-hosted option for those who want to host their own receipt tool. ReceiptsAI starts with 30 one-time credits for image or PDF extraction and basic categorization, suiting occasional processing better than eTasku’s ongoing bookkeeping workflow.

Starlog may suit a small company seeking unlimited submitter seats and receipt OCR, though its free plan’s unlimited receipts last only for the first six months before a 30-per-month cap. Veryfi Invoices OCR API is aimed at higher-volume invoice processing, with a $500 monthly minimum commitment. Parsio Receipt OCR offers a free tier capped at 30 credits per month, 30-day data retention and one user, making it a narrower option for limited processing.

Verdict

Choose Finago eTasku if your business needs a direct route for receipts, travel expense calculations and shared paperwork to reach bookkeeping, particularly when your accountant can work in its portal or your accounting system is among its integrations. Its varied submission routes and broader document handling are the main reasons to choose it. Look elsewhere if a free plan must include submitting documents, or if a per-user annual subscription does not fit your team’s budget.
