Overview

Flipdish is a restaurant platform that combines branded ordering with point-of-sale and operating tools. It is best suited to restaurants and takeaways that want to manage several customer ordering channels and, particularly for chains, coordinate menus and reporting across sites. Its breadth is a strength, but per-site subscriptions and extra kiosk hardware make costs worth weighing before committing.

Key features

Ordering and customer channels

Customers can order through a restaurant-branded website or app, QR-code order and pay, or a self-service kiosk. Branded iOS and Android apps add one-click reordering, loyalty features, push notifications and order-status updates, useful for businesses that want repeat ordering tied to their own brand. The Website plan does not include a branded app, so businesses that need one must choose the higher-priced Website & Mobile App plan.

POS and operations

The POS brings dine-in, collection, take-out and delivery orders together, and also manages menus, inventory, staff rotas and delivery dispatch. Kitchen display, driver tracking, appliance checks, task management, incident reporting and expiry, nutrition and allergy labels extend it into daily operations. That range may suit restaurants looking to consolidate workflows; businesses seeking only a basic online ordering channel may not need the wider system.

Payments, integrations and reporting

Integrated payments support debit and credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay, split tender, tipping and payment reporting. Flipdish says transaction rates have no hidden fees. Integrations include delivery partners such as Uber Direct and Stuart, as well as restaurant systems including Square, Toast, Lightspeed and Deliverect. Its open API is intended to connect business systems with online ordering.

Customizable reports, real-time manager metrics and sales forecasting support oversight, while chains can manage menus centrally and review reports across sites. An AI phone agent can handle multiple calls, take orders with modifiers and notes, upsell and send orders to the POS or a kitchen display. Support includes email, WhatsApp and phone seven days a week, alongside Help Centre articles and Academy videos.

Pricing

Flipdish charges per site. Annual billing offers lower rates than the monthly prices below; the plans start at $79/month for Self-Service Kiosk, $119/month for Website and $199/month for Website & Mobile App on annual billing.

Plan	Monthly price per site	What it includes
Self-Service Kiosk	$99.00 USD per month	Kiosk software, menu management, loyalty and retention, reporting and analytics, and integrated payments. Hardware costs extra.
Website	$149.00 USD per month	Branded website, online ordering, menu management, loyalty and retention, reporting and analytics, and integrated payments.
Website & Mobile App	$249.00 USD per month	Website plan features, branded mobile app and third-party delivery integration.

The kiosk plan is the lowest monthly option, but its separate hardware cost can add to the outlay. Website covers core online ordering without a branded mobile app; choose Website & Mobile App if that channel and third-party delivery integration are priorities. Hardware and implementation may also involve upfront costs. There is a free plan, but no plan features or caps are established here to assess its fit. No free trial or refund policy is stated.

Platforms

Flipdish supports Android, iOS, web and API access. Its branded restaurant apps are available for iOS and Android.

Who it's for

Independent restaurants, franchises and chains can use Flipdish to bring ordering and operations into one platform. Its strongest case is for operators that value branded digital ordering, integrated POS workflows and, across multiple sites, centralized menus and reporting. A single-channel operation or a business with tight hardware and subscription budgets may prefer a narrower or free option.

Pros and cons

Pros: Multiple ordering channels, POS and operational tools sit in one platform, reducing the need to coordinate separate systems.
Pros: Central menus and cross-site reporting give chains a way to oversee locations together.
Pros: Branded apps include loyalty and reorder features that support repeat customer ordering.
Cons: Subscription prices are per site, so costs scale with location count.
Cons: Kiosk hardware costs extra, and hardware or implementation may require upfront spending.
Cons: A branded mobile app requires the more expensive Website & Mobile App tier rather than Website.

Alternatives

GonnaOrder is worth considering for a lower-cost entry: its Starter plan is €49 per month for one venue, one module and one sales channel per enabled module, and it has a free plan and trial.

DoorDash Online Ordering suits operators focused on direct ordering, with no monthly or commission-based fees, though standard payment processing fees apply and customers pay delivery fees.

Clover Online Ordering offers takeout, curbside pickup and dine-in ordering without setup or subscription fees; delivery fees may apply.

Lunchbox offers free plans for one to two locations, making it an option for smaller operators comparing no-cost entry tiers.

GloriaFood has a free service plan with unlimited orders and locations and no monthly or per-order commission fee, a fit for operators prioritizing free ordering capacity.

storekit has a free plan limited to one location and one ordering channel, with a 12-month commitment.

Lightspeed Restaurant is another paid restaurant POS option; its Starter plan is $69.00 USD per month and includes menu management, floor plans, insights, offline mode and 24/7 support.

Ressto is an alternative to compare.

Verdict

Flipdish is a strong fit for restaurants and chains that want branded ordering, POS operations and reporting under one roof, especially when centralized multi-site management matters. Its main trade-off is cost: per-site plans, extra kiosk hardware and potential upfront implementation expenses can make it a poor match for operators who need only basic ordering or want to avoid a substantial setup.
