Overview

Founded in 2006, ezyVet brings clinical records, inventory, invoicing, reporting, diagnostic ordering and client communications together. That breadth can help a practice coordinate routine work without splitting it across separate systems, although the value depends on whether the practice needs this range of functions and can accommodate its infrastructure requirements.

The cloud platform can be accessed across devices and receives automatic software enhancements. Security measures include encryption, role-based access and two-factor sign-ins on AWS infrastructure, and ezyVet has SOC 2 Type 2 compliance based on an independent audit. These are meaningful safeguards for a system handling clinical and client workflows, though they do not remove the need to assess a practice’s own access policies.

Key features

Clinical and administrative workflows

Automated billing adds charges for exams, treatments and notes as work is completed. This helps keep invoices connected to recorded care and reduces reliance on a separate manual charging step. Clinical records sit alongside inventory, reporting and client communications, which is most useful for teams that want these operational tasks in one platform.

Diagnostics and integrations

Through IDEXX VetConnect PLUS, teams can order IDEXX tests and have normalized results returned directly to the patient record. That tighter link between testing and records can simplify diagnostic workflows for practices using IDEXX. More broadly, ezyVet offers over 100 certified integrations across diagnostics, payments, communications and other workflows. API access also lets practices build custom tools, integrations and reporting, giving technically capable organizations room to extend the platform without limiting them to standard connections.

Client access and mobile care

Clients can book through a practice website or client portal, and reminders can go by email or SMS. Telehealth, recurring appointments and calendar sync are supported. The ezyVet Go mobile app lets staff record clinical care and can work offline, a practical advantage when connectivity is interrupted. AI-Assisted notes is in beta at no charge during the beta period, is optimized for English input, and requires client consent before recording; practices should account for those conditions before making it part of routine visits.

Connectivity and printing

The stated internet requirement is at least 20 Mbps for small organizations and 50 Mbps for large ones. Direct printing through ezyPrint requires at least one Windows device, so an otherwise Mac-based clinic still needs Windows hardware for that workflow. Supported computer operating systems include Windows 11 and macOS.

Pricing

ezyVet is paid software with no free plan. The Starting package costs 199.00 USD per month, with packages starting at $199 and pricing varying by hospital or practice size. It includes cloud veterinary practice management software, scheduling and online booking, a customer portal, clinical records and client communications. This is the lower-cost entry point for practices focused on core practice and client workflows, but it does not promise the full feature set or integrations included in the named ezyVet plan.

The ezyVet plan costs 260.50 USD per month, billed per month, and includes all features and latest updates, over 100 integrations and unlimited 24/7 support. It is the clearer fit for practices that need the broader integration layer and ongoing support. Pricing includes support through in-product help, email or phone. No free tier is offered, and the Starting package price varies with practice size, so clinics should confirm the package that fits their scale before budgeting.

Platforms

ezyVet supports Android, iOS, macOS, web and Windows, as well as API access. Its cloud availability suits teams that need to work across devices, while ezyVet Go adds mobile clinical recording and offline use. The internet speed requirements and Windows device requirement for direct printing are important constraints to check alongside the platform list.

Who it's for

ezyVet is aimed at veterinary practices of all sizes, including general, specialty, emergency and multi-location groups. Practices with varied workflows, diagnostic needs or custom integration requirements are likely to benefit most from its breadth. A smaller clinic that needs only basic scheduling and records may find the size-based package pricing harder to justify; a practice with weak connectivity or no Windows device should also weigh the operational limits carefully.

Pros and cons

Pros

Clinical, inventory, invoicing, reporting and client workflows share one platform, reducing the need to coordinate those functions across separate systems.
More than 100 certified integrations, API access and direct IDEXX VetConnect PLUS results give practices multiple ways to connect diagnostics and other tools.
ezyVet Go supports offline clinical care recording, useful when mobile staff cannot rely on a live connection.
Unlimited 24/7 support is included with the ezyVet plan, with help available in-product, by email or by phone.

Cons

There is no free plan, and the Starting package price varies by practice size, making costs less predictable for clinics comparing budgets.
Direct printing through ezyPrint requires at least one Windows device, a drawback for practices that otherwise run entirely on Macs.
The required internet connection is at least 20 Mbps for small organizations and 50 Mbps for large ones, which may constrain sites with slower service.
AI-Assisted notes remains in beta, is optimized for English and requires client consent before recording.

Alternatives

Veterinary Software is the broader category for comparing practice systems. For clinics primarily evaluating booking workflows, Veterinary Appointment Scheduling Software offers a more focused category comparison.

NaVetor is worth considering for clinics seeking a freemium option: its Patterson Pay plan is free with full feature access when using Patterson payment services, subject to transaction-volume eligibility.
Provet Cloud may suit a practice comparing paid plans with a lower stated entry point: Core is 99.00 USD per month and includes unlimited non-vet staff accounts, while the Core platform fee is 249.00 USD per month with one vet included.
DaySmart Vet is another paid option, with plans starting at 123.00 USD per month and pricing varying by practice.
Digitail is a paid alternative with a free trial and mobile, API, iOS and web platforms.
VETport may be relevant to clinics comparing a plan with stated location and veterinarian allowances: its listed plan is 1405.00 USD per month for three locations and 10 vets.
IDEXX Neo is a paid alternative with a free trial for practices considering another IDEXX product.
Vetstar is a paid alternative available as self-hosted software or on the web.
VetBlue is a paid alternative available on Android, iOS, macOS, web and Windows.

Verdict

ezyVet is best for veterinary practices that need a broad cloud platform for clinical records, billing, diagnostics and client workflows, especially those that can make use of its integrations or API. Its main reasons to choose it are the connected workflow range, mobile offline recording and included 24/7 support on the ezyVet plan. Practices should look elsewhere if they need a free option, cannot meet the connectivity requirement or cannot provide a Windows device for direct printing.
