Overview

SafeWatch AML combines real-time transaction monitoring with offline analysis of historical data. It centralises data from an institution’s sources in a dashboard, then adds behavioural alerts, risk scoring, investigation workflows and reporting. That wide scope can help compliance teams coordinate detection and follow-up, though institutions should assess which modules and integrations their operations actually require.

Eastnets positions the platform for financial institutions and says it supports FATF frameworks, EU Anti-Money Laundering Directives and OFAC requirements. Those frameworks make it relevant to organisations working across those obligations, but the product should be evaluated against each institution’s specific regulatory and operational needs.

Key features

Real-time and historical monitoring: Online monitoring can surface activity as it occurs, while offline analysis of past transactions offers additional context. This dual approach suits teams that need both timely alerts and retrospective review.
Behavioural analysis and risk scoring: Unsupervised AI models assess account behaviour, identify anomalies and generate alerts intended to reduce false positives. Dynamic scoring for customers, accounts and transactions helps teams prioritise investigations; it does not remove the need for human review.
Configurable rules: Teams can choose preconfigured AML scenarios or create custom rules with the Rule Builder and Library. This gives institutions flexibility to adapt controls, while requiring them to decide how their scenarios should be configured.
Network analytics and investigations: Relationship analysis can expose context that transaction-level monitoring may miss. Configurable workflows can reflect an organisation’s investigation processes, which is useful when cases need more than an alert queue.
Reporting and screening: A built-in goAML module formats and submits reports according to United Nations standards. SafeWatch AML also includes customer risk assessment, case management, PEP and transaction screening, ongoing monitoring, batch screening, API access and custom list management, making it broader than a monitoring-only product.
Implementation and ongoing support: Eastnets says onboarding can include integration, configuration of pre-built risk scenarios and user training, with implementation taking as little as eight weeks. It also provides ongoing support, regulatory updates and model recalibrations. This can help institutions adopting a complex platform, though it entails a vendor-led process rather than immediate self-service setup.

Pricing

SafeWatch AML is paid software with custom pricing; prospective customers are invited to request a demo and consult an AML compliance specialist. There is no published plan structure or fixed cost to compare, so institutions should clarify module selection, implementation scope and ongoing support in a sales discussion. That approach may suit buyers procuring a tailored institutional system, but it is a drawback for teams that need a transparent budget before engaging a vendor.

Platforms

SafeWatch AML is available on the web. API access is also supported, which matters to institutions incorporating screening into connected workflows.

Who it's for

This is aimed at financial institutions that need several AML functions in a configurable platform and have the resources to assess a custom deployment. The combination of monitoring, scoring, investigations and reporting is a stronger fit for established compliance operations than for individuals or small teams looking for a straightforward, fixed-price screening service.

Pros and cons

Pros

Broad compliance coverage: Monitoring, case management, risk assessment, screening and reporting sit within one platform.
Flexible controls: Preconfigured scenarios, custom rules and modular components give institutions room to adapt the system as requirements evolve.
Implementation support: Integration, training, regulatory updates and model recalibrations are part of Eastnets’ stated support approach.
Security and resilience credentials: Eastnets says its systems align with EU DORA, have independent SOC reporting and ISO certifications; it also reports ISO/IEC 27001 re-certification for a third consecutive three-year cycle.

Cons

Custom pricing: Buyers cannot compare a published price or package before contacting Eastnets.
Institutional scope: The breadth and sales-led onboarding are harder to justify for buyers seeking a simple, self-serve tool.
Configuration work: Custom rules and workflows offer control, but institutions need to shape them to their own processes.

Alternatives

For a wider comparison, explore AML Compliance Software and Sanctions Screening Software.

SanctionsScreening.io is a freemium web and API option, with a Pro plan at 29.00 USD per month; consider it if a published entry price is more important than SafeWatch AML’s broader institutional scope.
OpenSanctions offers a free plan and a Screening API billed at 0.10 EUR per once; it may suit buyers seeking query-priced API screening.
LSEG Corporate Treasury Risk is a paid web product with pricing available by contacting sales.
FinScan provides paid AML and KYC solutions across API, self-hosted and web platforms, with pricing on request and a demo required.
Napier Continuum is a paid API, self-hosted and web option; pricing is not shown and buyers are asked to book a demo.
ThetaRay RAY Platform is a paid API and web product; buyers are asked to contact ThetaRay for a discovery call and pricing.
Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Financial Aid is another paid web and Windows product.
AML Watcher is a paid API, self-hosted and web product with a free trial; its Enterprise plan includes custom adverse-media screening, 50 bulk screening and unlimited whitelists, blacklists and search profiles.

Verdict

SafeWatch AML is a strong candidate for financial institutions seeking configurable monitoring, prioritised risk assessment, investigations and reporting, backed by implementation and ongoing support. Its main advantage is the breadth of those functions in a modular platform; its main reason to look elsewhere is the custom, sales-led purchase, especially if a fixed price or simpler screening tool is a priority.
