Overview

Mixmax is a sales engagement platform for revenue teams that want outreach tools inside Gmail or Outlook. It suits teams coordinating follow-ups, meetings, and CRM activity; its strongest case is bringing those workflows together, while provider support and sequence caps are important constraints.

Work happens through a Chrome extension for Gmail, an Outlook add-in, and a web dashboard for sequences, reports, and workspace settings. It is not a fit for Apple Mail, Yahoo, or other providers, and Gmail users need Chrome for the extension. Mixmax was founded in 2015 and is headquartered in San Francisco.

Key features

Sequences combine follow-up emails, tasks, and scheduled calls, with merge-variable personalization and CSV recipient uploads. That makes Mixmax more useful for structured outreach than for simple one-off tracking. Multichannel outreach and reply detection add coordination options, though a user may be limited to 1,000 sent emails per day to stay within Google or Microsoft rate limits.

Real-time open and click tracking, with desktop notifications, gives sellers engagement signals; unlimited tracking is reserved for paid plans. Scheduling links let recipients choose a time and add the meeting to both calendars. Automatic sync sends emails, meetings, and sequence activity to Salesforce or HubSpot, while rules can create Salesforce tasks after opens or add recipients to sequences when deal stages change.

Mixmax offers more than 40 native integrations, all included on every plan, so integrations are not an upgrade gate. It states that it is SOC 2 Type II certified, HIPAA compliant, GDPR and CPRA compliant, and audited by Google; data is encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM and in transit with TLS 1.2 or higher. Support includes a Help Center, messenger, email, and the 24/7 in-app AI assistant Maxine.

Pricing

Mixmax has a free plan, paid tiers, and a 14-day trial. Prices below are per user where stated; the annual-billing prices are lower than the monthly alternatives, so teams should compare the commitment against their expected use.

Free: 0.00 USD per free, with 20 tracked emails per month and up to 50 sequence recipients per month. It is a useful way to try limited-volume workflows, but the tracking and recipient caps make it restrictive for ongoing prospecting.
Inbox Copilot: 29.00 USD per month billed annually, or $34/mo monthly. It adds unlimited email tracking, but caps sequences at 100 recipients per month. This is the entry paid option for tracking-heavy use with modest outreach volume.
Engagement Copilot: 49.00 USD per month billed annually, or $65/mo monthly. It keeps unlimited tracking and raises the sequence cap to 1,500 recipients per month, making it better suited to regular outreach.
Mixmax Suite: 89.00 USD per month billed annually, or $105/mo monthly. It includes unlimited tracking, 1,500 sequence recipients per month, and 200 post-meeting summaries per month. The higher price is most defensible for teams that will use those summaries.
Meeting Copilot: custom pricing; it is included in Suite and provides up to 100 sequence recipients and 200 post-meeting summaries per month.
Mixmax for Teams: custom pricing, with unlimited sequences and up to 3,000 sequence recipients per month. It is the stated option for teams whose sequence volume exceeds the lower paid tiers.

All integrations are included across plans, but sequence recipient limits remain a practical differentiator. A stated 1,000-email daily sending limit may also constrain larger campaigns regardless of plan.

Platforms

Mixmax supports web, Chrome extension, Outlook add-in, Linux, macOS, Windows, and API. The inbox experience is specifically for Gmail and Outlook, with Chrome required for Gmail; the broader platform labels do not change the email-provider restriction.

Who it's for

Mixmax is best for revenue teams already using Gmail or Outlook that want sequences, tracking, scheduling, and Salesforce or HubSpot sync in one workflow. It is less suitable for teams using another mail provider, or for high-volume sequence work unless the custom Teams plan and daily sending ceiling fit their needs.

Pros and cons

Pro: Sequences, calendar scheduling, engagement tracking, and CRM sync work together, reducing the need to coordinate those tasks across separate workflows.
Pro: More than 40 integrations are included on every plan, so teams do not have to move up a tier just to access integrations.
Pro: Paid plans remove the email-tracking cap, and Engagement Copilot raises monthly sequence recipients to 1,500.
Con: Free tracking is limited to 20 emails per month and sequences to 50 recipients, making the free tier a narrow trial of sustained use.
Con: Gmail and Outlook are the only supported email providers, and Gmail's extension requires Chrome.
Con: A possible 1,000-email daily limit and monthly sequence caps can restrict larger outreach programs.

Alternatives

For a different balance of outreach tools and pricing, compare Snov.io, which has a free trial and a trial allowance of 50 credits, 100 recipients, and one warm-up slot; Woodpecker, which offers a free plan and trial; or Regie.ai, whose free plan provides 250 one-time credits per person, shared by up to 10 people, for research, enrichment, drafting, and agents.

Growbots has a free tier with 20 email accounts, three sequences, and up to 20 emails per inbox per day. Mystrika offers a free plan. Outplay has a free tier for one user, two mailboxes, and 2,000 active prospects per month. Yesware and Warmbly are also alternatives.

Verdict

Choose Mixmax if your revenue team uses Gmail or Outlook and needs outreach sequencing, engagement signals, scheduling, and CRM sync in a connected workflow. Its main advantage is that breadth; look elsewhere if you rely on another email provider or need sequence volume beyond the applicable caps without custom pricing.
