Overview

Clubworx is an operations platform for fitness businesses that brings scheduling, memberships, payment connections, and communications together. It suits operators across disciplines, from martial arts schools and gyms to yoga, dance, and aerial studios. Its free plan gives small businesses a way to start, while paid tiers add capacity and tools as membership grows.

Key features

Scheduling and attendance

Class, personal-training, and appointment bookings share timetables and capacity controls. Waitlists help handle full classes, and attendance tracking plus a self-check-in kiosk cover the in-person side of managing sessions. That breadth is useful for businesses running several kinds of appointments, though a business chiefly seeking a website or a narrowly focused booking tool may not need the broader operations package.

Member communications and apps

Email, SMS, and notifications can support reminders, campaigns, and updates, reducing the need to handle routine messages one by one. Optional iOS and Android member apps add bookings, payments, waitlists, family accounts, workout tracking, and proximity check-in. These are add-ons, so operators should account for that distinction when deciding whether member-facing app features are central to their setup.

Payments and integrations

Clubworx connects to payment providers rather than processing payments itself. In Australia and New Zealand, it uses Ezidebit for direct debit and card payments; elsewhere, the provider connection is an important consideration before choosing it. Integrations named include Brivo access control, barcode or scanner point of sale, Zapier, Mailchimp, Google Docs, Facebook, and Stripe.

Security and data

Clubworx says it encrypts stored and transmitted data and uses regular security testing and monitoring, automated threat detection, and access controls. Personal information is stored in Australia and may be accessed or transferred overseas through service providers, partners, or cloud services, a relevant consideration for businesses with data-location requirements.

Pricing

Clubworx has a free plan and a 15-day premium trial that requires no credit card. After the trial, customers can choose a paid plan or continue on Free. Paid plans include chat, email, and phone support, plus one-to-one onboarding with a customer success specialist.

Plan	Price	What it includes
Free	0.00 USD per free; free forever	Up to 20 active members, one website, online booking, payment acceptance, email and SMS, self-check-in kiosk, and attendance tracking.
Growing	109.00 AUD per month	Up to 100 active members, retail point of sale, and one-to-one onboarding.
Accelerating	149.00 AUD per month	Up to 250 active members, multisite support, and custom online forms and waivers.
Established	169.00 AUD per month	Unlimited active members, assessments, workout tracking, advanced email and SMS sequences, and automatic late-payment notifications.

Free is a practical starting point for a small operation that needs core booking and attendance tools, but its 20-member cap leaves little room for growth. Growing raises the limit to 100 and adds retail point of sale; Accelerating is the step for up to 250 members or multiple clubs. Established removes the active-member ceiling and adds more member-management and payment-follow-up tools, making it the clearest fit for larger businesses. Active members are paying customers, not prospects or cancelled members. Exceeding a plan limit moves the customer to the next available plan, so membership growth can change the bill. The paid tiers are priced in AUD, while Free is shown in USD.

Platforms

Clubworx is available on web, Android, and iOS. Member booking apps for iOS and Android are optional add-ons rather than a stated inclusion in every plan.

Who it's for

Clubworx is a strong fit for fitness operators that need scheduling and membership administration in one system, particularly businesses combining classes with personal training or appointments. Its audience spans martial arts and combat sports, gyms, personal training, yoga, Pilates, dance, and pole and aerial studios. A very small business can begin on Free; growing clubs can move into paid tiers for larger member caps and added capabilities. It is less suitable for businesses that require Clubworx itself to process payments, or those that need a member app included without an add-on.

Pros and cons

Broad operational coverage: bookings, capacity controls, waitlists, attendance, communications, and membership billing address several recurring fitness-business tasks in one platform.
Low-cost entry point: Free includes online booking, payment acceptance, kiosk check-in, and attendance tracking, but is capped at 20 active members.
Growth-based tiers: paid plans increase member limits and add point of sale, multisite, forms, assessments, and more advanced messaging; exceeding a cap triggers movement to the next available plan.
Provider-dependent payments: Clubworx connects to payment providers rather than processing payments itself, which may not suit businesses seeking a single in-house payment service.
App features cost extra: member apps offer useful booking and engagement features, but are add-ons.

Alternatives

Fitune is worth comparing for businesses that want a free plan across web and mobile with stated Pro, Plus, and Ultra active-client tiers and different admin-access limits.
Finegym may suit operators prioritizing unlimited members and staff on a free tier; its stated 1% Stripe fee applies to Stripe payments, not cash or offline payments.
Trainera is an alternative to consider for businesses interested in its paid Community Plus add-on, which provides challenges, leaderboards, and scheduled posts.
Wix Fitness Website Builder is a better comparison for a business focused on building a web presence, with a free tier offering hosting, a drag-and-drop editor, and templates.
Zarla is another option to compare.
Appy Pie Fitness Website Builder may appeal to a business seeking a free website-builder tier with up to 100 members and a basic class schedule.
Plot is another option to compare.
Studio by Kendra is another option to compare.

Verdict

Choose Clubworx if your fitness business needs bookings, member administration, and attendance tools in one place, with a free starting tier and a clear path to higher member limits. Its main trade-offs are provider-dependent payment processing, add-on member apps, and plan changes when active members exceed a cap. Businesses needing Clubworx itself to process payments or requiring app features as standard should look elsewhere.
