Overview

Clear I-9 is a web-based system for handling Form I-9 compliance, from guided completion through remote verification and E-Verify follow-up. It is a strong match for employers managing distributed locations or high-volume hiring. Its broad workflow is useful, but custom pricing makes a quote and needs assessment part of the buying decision.

Key features

Step-by-step instructions and automated checks guide I-9 completion, while employee self-service can shift some form entry away from HR. That structure helps organizations keep recurring hiring processes consistent; it does not replace review of exceptions or responsibility for follow-up.

Section 2 can be verified by live video or by approved U.S.-based representatives, which suits employers hiring remotely or across multiple sites. E-Verify case management adds automatic data transfer, alerts, and tentative nonconfirmation follow-up workflows, so teams can manage related cases alongside I-9 records.

Time-stamped, version-controlled records and centralized dashboards support reviews and audits across locations. Role-based access and customizable dashboards help distribute oversight, while encrypted storage and access controls address record handling. HRlogics states its platform is SOC 1 and SOC 2 Type II certified.

Integration routes include pre-built connections, public API access, CSV imports, and secure file transfers. Named providers include ADP, Gusto, UKG, Paychex, and Paycom; Clear I-9 can also operate as a standalone solution. This range offers options for different HR systems, though employers should confirm that their specific setup and access requirements are covered before committing.

HRlogics describes the product as mobile-friendly and responsive, and provides U.S.-based human support, onboarding, and training, with expert help available. Support and training can matter to organizations rolling out compliance workflows across locations. The product supports current DHS and E-Verify standards, including employers in states where E-Verify is mandatory.

Pricing

The paid Clear I-9 plan has custom pricing; buyers schedule a demo rather than selecting a published price. E-Verify, remote I-9 workflows, audit trails, API access, and employee self-service are included. That makes it possible to assess the full workflow in one plan, but organizations cannot compare a public entry price or choose a cheaper tier that omits advanced functions. No free plan or trial terms are provided.

Platforms

Clear I-9 is a web product, with a responsive interface designed for use on mobile devices as well as larger screens.

Who it's for

Distributed and high-volume employers in staffing, education, construction, hospitality, event venues, and healthcare are the clearest fit. Centralized management across locations, role-based access, and hiring integrations support teams that need consistent oversight. A smaller employer with straightforward hiring and no need for remote verification or E-Verify case workflows may find a narrower or free tool more appropriate.

Pros and cons

Pros: Covers guided I-9 completion, remote Section 2 verification, E-Verify case handling, and audit records in one workflow, reducing the need to coordinate separate compliance processes.
Pros: Multiple integration methods and named connections, plus API access, suit organizations with established HR systems.
Pros: Centralized dashboards, role-based access, and onboarding support address the practical challenges of deploying the process across locations.
Cons: Custom pricing requires a sales conversation, making upfront budget comparisons harder.
Cons: Its compliance focus may be more than employers need if they only want a basic I-9 workflow and do not need remote verification or E-Verify case management.
