Overview

Chekkit is a customer messaging and business workflow platform aimed at local businesses that handle conversations across several channels. It suits teams that want texts, calls, web chats and social messages in a shared workspace, though its most useful team features start at $149.00 USD per month.

Key features

One inbox for customer conversations

Chekkit brings calls, texts, website chats and social messages together, with coworker mentions, intent routing and scheduled messages for coordinating replies. Business adds AI-powered replies, missed-call text-back, review requests, campaigns and more than 2,000 app integrations. That makes it a practical fit for businesses juggling customer contact across channels; the trade-off is that the free Starter plan is for one user and does not include the unified inbox.

Texting, automation and AI

Two-way texting works with a business’s existing phone number, and the platform supports workflow automation, multiple SMS number types and 2,000 messages per month. Business AI adds an AI Employee that responds to texts and website chats around the clock and qualifies prospects. Separate voice plans sell 1,000 or 2,000 AI voice minutes per month, so buyers can choose a defined voice allowance rather than the full Business AI package.

Payments and data protection

Chekkit Pay is powered by Stripe, and Chekkit says it does not store or collect card details. Its privacy policy says payment processors adhere to PCI-DSS standards, while also cautioning that its efforts to protect personal data cannot guarantee absolute security. Businesses sending SMS are responsible for complying with applicable laws and carrier requirements.

Pricing

Chekkit has a free plan and paid plans from $149.00 USD per month for its main Business tier. Annual upfront payment receives a 15% discount; subscriptions are month-to-month and can be cancelled at any time.

Plan	Price and terms	What it includes
Starter	0.00 USD per free; free forever	One user, CRM sales pipeline, online booking and scheduling, quotes and invoices, Stripe payments, QuickBooks integration, and iOS and Android apps.
Voice: 1000 Minutes	39.00 USD per month	1,000 AI voice minutes.
Voice: 2000 Minutes	69.00 USD per month	2,000 AI voice minutes.
Business	149.00 USD per month; $127/month yearly	Unlimited users, unified inbox, AI-powered replies, missed-call text-back, review requests, website chat, campaigns and 2,000+ app integrations.
Business AI	249.00 USD per month	Everything in Business, plus AI Employee, 24/7 responses to texts and website chats, and automated prospect qualification.

Starter is useful for a solo operator who needs scheduling, estimates and invoicing, but its one-user cap makes it a poor shared-messaging option. The two voice plans offer a focused allowance for AI calls, not the unified inbox and team tools in Business. Business is the step up for teams needing unlimited users and multi-channel coordination; Business AI costs more for businesses that want after-hours replies and prospect qualification. The yearly Business price lowers the monthly rate to $127/month, while the month-to-month option avoids an annual commitment.

Platforms

Chekkit supports Android, iOS and web, and its Starter plan specifically includes iOS and Android apps. It also offers API access, making it relevant to businesses that need a software connection beyond the listed integrations.

Who it's for

Chekkit is aimed at local businesses and teams, including retail, auto dealerships, healthcare and home services. It is strongest for businesses that need staff to share customer conversations and follow up across channels. A solo business can start free, but a team looking for those shared workflows must budget for Business; businesses relying on outbound SMS should also be ready to manage compliance themselves.

Pros and cons

Pros: A shared inbox unifies several customer contact channels, with mentions, routing and scheduled messages to support team coordination.
Pros: The free forever Starter plan includes a sales pipeline, booking, quotes and invoices, payments and QuickBooks integration for one user.
Pros: Paid plans allow unlimited users, and Business AI adds around-the-clock text and website-chat responses.
Cons: Starter is single-user and lacks the unified inbox, so collaboration requires a paid plan starting at $149.00 USD per month.
Cons: The 2,000 messages per month allowance and SMS compliance responsibilities matter for businesses with heavier or regulated messaging needs.
Cons: Chekkit does not guarantee absolute personal-data security, despite using commercially acceptable protective measures.

Verdict

Chekkit is a strong choice for a local business team that needs one place to manage customer conversations and coordinate follow-up, with optional AI for after-hours coverage. Its main reason to look elsewhere is the $149.00 USD monthly starting price for the team inbox; solo operators can get useful business tools free, but not shared workflows.
