Overview

BrandKity is a web-based brand portal for agencies, studios, in-house teams and independent consultants who need to share approved brand material with clients or colleagues. Its strongest fit is a team that wants brand guidance, reusable assets and legal documents gathered behind a controlled link; it is less compelling for a larger team that needs broad collaboration on the entry plans.

Key features

Brand Kits bring together colors, typography, logos, visuals, videos, icons, collateral, resources and a brand story. Teams can share a kit publicly, protect it with a password or limit access to specified email addresses. Edits take effect on the existing shared link, which helps keep recipients aligned without circulating replacement files or links.

The media library adds folders, asset details, inline previews and an interactive 3D model viewer. More than 25 supported file formats make it suited to mixed creative libraries, and previews let recipients inspect files without downloading them. Legal Kit is a separate portal for compliance badges and documents, with access requests, one-time code verification, custom domains and Cloudflare Turnstile bot protection. The homepage displays SOC 2 Type II, GDPR and ISO 27001 labels alongside Legal Kit; those labels are useful signals, though they do not by themselves explain the scope of any certification.

Connections include Canva, Figma, Notion, Zapier, WordPress and Google Drive, among other tools. An MCP server and REST API support AI-agent and automation workflows, with Claude Desktop, Cursor and Windsurf named as MCP clients. That breadth can help BrandKity fit into an existing creative stack, while the API option gives automation-minded teams another route beyond manual portal updates.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free, billed Forever free. It includes 500 MB of storage, one user, seven days of analytics retention and email support. It is a sensible way for a solo user to establish a small portal, but the single-user cap and short analytics window make it a limited choice for ongoing team use.

Starter costs 9.00 USD per month, billed per month, and raises storage to 10 GB and analytics retention to 30 days while keeping the one-user limit and email support. It suits an individual with a growing asset collection, but does not add collaborators.

Pro costs 24.00 USD per month, billed per month. It provides 50 GB, three members, 90 days of analytics retention and priority email support. This is the more practical step for a small team, although three seats may be restrictive for an agency with several client-facing collaborators.

Agency costs 59.00 USD per month, billed per month. Its 200 GB, ten members, lifetime analytics retention, unlimited kit custom domains and priority live chat make it the plan aimed at agencies managing multiple client portals. The larger seat and storage allowances come at a substantial jump over Pro, so smaller teams should weigh whether custom domains and live chat justify it.

Platforms

BrandKity is available on the web and through an API. No mobile or desktop app platform is indicated, so teams looking for a dedicated native app should consider that fit before committing.

Who it's for

Agencies and studios are the clearest audience, particularly those sharing current guidelines and creative files with clients. In-house brand teams can use access restrictions and instant updates to distribute controlled materials, while freelancers can start with the free single-user tier. Teams whose priority is monitoring brand mentions should look elsewhere: BrandKity offers analytics but not brand monitoring.

Pros and cons

Pros: One portal can combine brand guidance, varied creative files and a distinct legal area, reducing the need to scatter shared materials across destinations.
Pros: Public, password and email-restricted access options let teams match sharing controls to the audience.
Pros: Instant link updates and inline previews help recipients work from current materials without downloading every file.
Cons: Free and Starter are limited to one user, so collaboration requires paying for Pro.
Cons: Free storage is 500 MB and analytics retention is seven days, which constrains long-term use of the no-cost plan.
Cons: Brand monitoring is not included, so BrandKity is not a substitute for a tool focused on tracking external brand mentions.

Verdict

BrandKity is a strong fit for agencies, studios and brand teams that want current brand guidance, creative assets and legal materials delivered through a controlled portal. Its combination of access options, previews, integrations and a separate Legal Kit is the central reason to choose it. Look elsewhere if you need brand monitoring, or if your team needs more than three members without moving to the $59.00 USD per month Agency plan.
