Overview

icCube runs on customer infrastructure or cloud rather than as a hosted service, and can sit behind customer firewalls. Its browser-based Java process can run on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud, as well as Linux, Windows or macOS servers. That deployment control can suit products with specific infrastructure or security needs, but operating the platform becomes part of the customer’s responsibility.

The embedded license allows integration into a product or solution and includes as many instances as needed, including development and QA. Embedding uses iframes, while JavaScript APIs allow two-way communication and parameter passing between icCube and the host application. White-label analytics supports a consistent product experience.

Key features

Data connections cover relational sources, IoT and custom connectors, with incremental loading and built-in ETL. An in-memory dimensional model provides a semantic layer for translating raw data terms into business-friendly language. This gives SaaS teams tools to present data in terms their customers recognize; Extended MDX supports multidimensional queries, and native Java integration is useful for Java-based applications.

The drag-and-drop dashboard editor combines charts, tables, maps, filters, reusable gadgets and custom visualizations. Multi-layout dashboards can be made printable, which broadens their use beyond interactive reporting. An optional secure, live XMLA connection lets users work with Excel pivot tables.

Security can draw on the host application's authentication and authorization mechanisms. Fine-grained, cell-level roles and row-level security let teams control what customers see, an important strength when analytics exposes sensitive data across multiple tenants.

Support includes first-line help directly from the development team, as well as project expertise, custom development and on-demand services. That may help teams whose embedding work needs specialist input, though the product remains customer-managed.

Pricing

icCube is paid software, with pricing from $1,950/mo. A free trial is advertised, but starting the software requires a valid license; users can contact the company for an evaluation license.

New Projects: custom pricing for releasing a new product or solution with embedded analytics. This is the relevant route for a new launch, but no price is given.
Variable: $1,950.00 USD per month, with support. It combines a fixed base amount with a variable amount based on the value analytics brings to the SaaS solution. It includes unlimited users, instances and usage, making it the lower entry price for teams willing to use value-based pricing.
Flat: $4,900.00 USD per month, billed yearly and guaranteed for 3 years, with support. It includes unlimited users, instances and usage. The fixed monthly amount avoids the Variable plan’s value-based component, but the yearly billing and three-year guarantee are significant commitments.

Both priced plans include unlimited users, instances and usage, so the choice is less about quotas than pricing structure and commitment. The license scope also includes development and QA instances.

Platforms

icCube supports API, Linux, macOS, self-hosted, web and Windows environments. Downloads are available for Docker, Windows and Linux/macOS, and the software requires Java 25 or later. The platform is explicitly not hosted by icCube, so teams should account for infrastructure and runtime requirements.

Who it's for

icCube is aimed at B2B SaaS companies that want embedded analytics with control over deployment, data modeling and customer-level access. It is particularly suited to teams that need to integrate varied data sources, present measures in business language and set fine-grained permissions. It is less suitable for buyers who want a managed analytics service or a low-cost free tier.

Pros and cons

Pros: Customer-controlled cloud or on-premises deployment, including behind firewalls, gives teams flexibility over where analytics runs.
Pros: Semantic modeling, incremental loading, built-in ETL and broad connector support help tailor reporting to a SaaS product.
Pros: Row-level security, cell-level roles and use of the host application's authorization support granular customer access.
Pros: Unlimited users, instances and usage on the priced plans avoid per-seat and usage caps.
Cons: There is no free plan, and the starting price of $1,950/mo makes it a substantial commitment for smaller products.
Cons: Customer-managed hosting and the Java 25 requirement add operational responsibilities that a hosted service would avoid.
Cons: The Flat plan's annual billing and three-year guarantee limit flexibility, while the Variable plan's price depends partly on the value analytics brings.

Alternatives

Logi Composer is another paid option for teams considering embedded analytics across API, self-hosted and web environments.

Logi Symphony is another paid option with API, self-hosted and web platform support.

Reveal BI offers paid embedded analytics with a free trial and flat-rate pricing for unlimited users, quoted to each customer.

Yellowfin Embedded Analytics uses an analytics-usage pricing model aligned to the customer's sales model.

ThoughtSpot offers paid plans with annual billing and Essentials pricing of 25.00 USD per month for 5 to 50 users and up to 25M rows of data; consider it when those stated limits fit your needs.

Verdict

Choose icCube if you are building a B2B SaaS product and need embedded analytics with customer-controlled deployment, business-oriented data modeling and fine-grained security. Its unlimited usage and instance terms are compelling for a product with demanding embedding needs, but the starting price, Java runtime requirement and responsibility for hosting make it a poor choice for teams seeking a managed, low-cost service.
