Overview

Avaza combines project collaboration, team chat, resource scheduling, time and expense tracking, and customer invoicing in a single platform. It describes its focus as professional-services automation for professional teams and reports more than 70,000 customers in 150 countries. The broad scope may suit teams that want project delivery and operational administration connected rather than handled in separate tools.

Projects can be managed in Kanban, Gantt, or List task views, with filtering and grouping, budgets, and an option to turn emails into tasks. Resource scheduling adds team availability views, drag-and-drop assignments, leave and public-holiday planning, and utilization forecasting. Avaza also includes automation rules.

Work can flow into financial administration: teams can track time and expenses, capture and digitize receipts, approve expenses, and set recurring expenses. Estimates can be converted into invoices, with customizable branding and formats, recurring or retainer billing, and customer payments by card, digital wallet, or bank direct debit. These capabilities place Avaza across Professional Services Automation Software, Time and Expense Software, Time Billing Software, and Project Management Software.

Who it's for

Avaza is aimed at professional teams, particularly those that need project planning, scheduling, time and expense administration, and customer billing in one system. Its plans distinguish capacity by user type, active projects, invoices and bills, and storage, so teams should compare those limits with their expected workloads. The free tier has broad project collaboration but comparatively narrow access to timesheets and expenses, administration, scheduling, and chat.

Pros and cons

Pros

Project management, scheduling, time and expense tracking, chat, and invoicing are brought together.
Reports can be customized, saved, and automatically delivered on a schedule.
The free plan provides unlimited project collaborators.
Support is offered 24/7 at no charge through online channels, with phone conversations and demo walkthroughs also available.

Cons

The free plan limits several operational roles to one user and restricts projects, customers, invoices, bills, storage, and chat membership.
Paid tiers continue to impose different limits on timesheet and expense users, admin and finance users, resource scheduling users, and chat members.

Alternatives

Teams comparing project and professional-services tools can also consider Teamwork.com, Productive, and Accelo. Other options listed for this space include Deltek Maconomy, Acumatica Professional Services Edition, and Promys Enterprise PSA.

Verdict

Avaza’s main distinction is the breadth of work it covers, from task views and resource capacity planning through expenses and customer invoices. That connected scope is relevant to professional teams handling delivery and billing together. The trade-off to assess is plan capacity: the free plan offers unlimited collaborators but keeps several specialist functions to a single user, while paid plans add users, projects, invoice volume, and storage at specified monthly prices.
