Overview

Autify is an AI-powered testing platform for teams that want to create and run application tests with less manual scripting. It suits both teams exploring natural-language test execution and Playwright users who want AI-assisted authoring; the two products have different capabilities and plan limits, so choosing between Aximo and Nexus matters.

Aximo turns plain-English scenarios into end-to-end test runs, while Nexus pairs test-generation tools with editable Playwright scripts. That split is useful, but not interchangeable: Aximo’s credits and hosted concurrency shape usage, whereas Nexus separates local free testing from paid cloud and AI capabilities.

Key features

Aximo: natural-language execution

With Aximo, a user describes a test in plain English and the system navigates and executes it autonomously. Its product coverage includes iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS, but desktop app testing is reserved for Enterprise. Teams evaluating Aximo for desktop coverage should therefore treat the lower tiers as web and mobile options rather than assume every listed platform is included.

Aximo’s free tier offers 2,000 credits once, with no expiration, and concurrency for one web and one mobile run. Core and Team raise both the credit allowance and concurrency, making them more suitable for recurring or parallel workloads.

Nexus: AI assistance with Playwright control

Nexus includes a natural-language recorder, test-case generation from product requirements, and AI help updating changed locators. Requirements can come from Jira and Figma. Its native Playwright foundation and editable script export make it a stronger fit for teams that want AI-assisted authoring without giving up code-level control.

Nexus’s free tier is local-only: it allows unlimited tests and scenarios for one user, but excludes cloud parallel runs, shared remote workspace, generative AI, and IP whitelisting. Its one-month Core Features Trial also limits users to local creation and execution, with no cloud access or AI features enabled by default. Those boundaries make it useful for evaluating local workflows, not for judging the full paid service.

Autify also identifies Selenium and Cypress among supported frameworks, describes execution as hybrid, and includes email and visual regression in its testing scope. Its open API can connect CI/CD tools. It lists ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and SOC 2 Type 2 certifications; its security policy describes organizational and technical safeguards and incident response. Nexus paid users can contact Intercom support, with a stated response window of up to 24 hours.

Pricing

Autify is freemium, with paid plans from $99/mo (annual) and a 14-day trial. Aximo’s Free plan costs $0.00 per free: 2,000 one-time credits, one web and one mobile concurrency, and cloud hosting. It is a no-cost starting point, but the one-time credit pool makes it less suited to sustained use.

Aximo Core costs $99 / month billed annually or $120 / month billed monthly. It includes 72,000 annual credits or 6,000 monthly credits, with concurrency of five web and two mobile runs. Team costs $450 / month billed annually or $550 / month billed monthly, and includes 360,000 annual credits or 30,000 monthly credits, with 20 web and five mobile concurrency. Both are cloud-hosted. Core suits smaller teams needing recurring capacity; Team is for higher-volume parallel work, at a substantial price increase.

Nexus Free Tier costs $0.00 per free and includes one user, local execution, and unlimited tests and scenarios, but not cloud parallelism, shared workspace, GenAI, or IP whitelisting. Nexus Professional starts at $3,600 / year and starts at $400 / month; it includes one user, one shared workspace, generative AI, Intercom support, and Playwright code export and import. That entry package fits an individual needing Nexus’s paid capabilities, though its single-user allowance is narrow for a larger team. Nexus Enterprise has custom pricing and customizable users, shared workspaces, and cloud parallels, plus on-prem testing, IP whitelisting, and enterprise support.

Aximo Enterprise also has custom pricing, with custom annual credits and concurrency and either on-premises or dedicated infrastructure. Aximo Free, Core, and Team run on Autify’s cloud infrastructure, so teams requiring on-prem deployment must look to Enterprise.

Platforms

Autify’s listed platform coverage spans Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, web, API, and self-hosted environments. The coverage is broad, but individual product and plan limits matter: Aximo desktop app testing is Enterprise-only, and Nexus’s free offering is confined to a local environment rather than cloud collaboration.

Who it's for

Autify makes the most sense for teams that want AI-assisted testing but need a choice between autonomous natural-language runs and Playwright-based workflows. Aximo is the better match for scenario-driven execution and teams willing to manage credits and concurrency. Nexus is the better match for Playwright teams that value editable scripts and AI help, provided its free local limits or paid plan costs fit their workflow. It is a weaker fit for teams that need desktop app testing below Enterprise or broad team collaboration at no cost.

Pros and cons

Pro: Aximo can execute plain-English scenarios autonomously, with free credits that do not expire; that gives individuals a way to explore it without a recurring charge.
Pro: Nexus combines requirement-based test generation and locator assistance with editable Playwright scripts, preserving code control for teams already using Playwright.
Pro: Paid plans add meaningful concurrency, and Enterprise offers on-premises or dedicated deployment options for teams that cannot use standard cloud hosting.
Con: Aximo’s credit quotas and concurrency constrain run volume, while desktop app testing requires Enterprise; the platform list alone can overstate what lower tiers can do.
Con: Nexus Free is local-only and excludes cloud collaboration and AI features; the Professional plan starts at $3,600 / year for one user, which may be a steep entry point for teams.

Alternatives

For another freemium testing option, testRigor is worth comparing; its listed coverage also includes Linux and extension platforms. SmartestQA may suit someone seeking a free forever Solo plan with one local agent and one parallel execution. Momentic is a paid-model alternative with a free starting plan and Android, iOS, API, self-hosted, and web coverage.

TestFirst is a fit to consider when a free plan with 100 one-time workspace credits and one test at a time is sufficient. iHarmony AI is a free alternative with coverage across Android, API, iOS, Linux, macOS, web, and Windows. ACCELQ may be relevant for teams comparing web, mobile, and API automation. Autonoma offers a free self-hosted option that runs on the user's own infrastructure. Functionize is another web-focused alternative, with a free plan listing 800,000 credits per month and five parallel runs.

Verdict

Autify is a strong choice for teams that want natural-language execution or AI-assisted Playwright testing under one platform, especially when they can match the product and plan to their run volume. Choose Aximo for autonomous scenario runs or Nexus for editable Playwright workflows; look elsewhere if you need lower-tier desktop app testing, free cloud collaboration, or a cheaper multi-user Nexus entry point.
