Overview

Animaze is avatar software for turning 2D or 3D characters into tracked, animated video for streams, calls and recordings. It is best suited to creators who want broad avatar-import and tracking options, while its business and enterprise plans address commercial and app-development needs.

Its strongest appeal is flexibility: users can bring in models from several formats and pair webcam or iPhone tracking with streaming and video-call tools. The trade-off is a tiered plan structure, with paid features and commercial rights that require careful matching to the intended use.

Key features

Animaze supports imported Live2D, VRM, Ready Player Me and Union Avatars characters. Artist documentation also covers GLB/GLTF and FBX, and the PC Avatar Editor can be used to import and test models made in Live2D or a 3D modeling tool before exporting them for Animaze. That range makes the software suitable for creators with existing avatar assets, though the Pro plan caps editable Holotech Originals content at two avatars, five accessories, two backgrounds and three emotes.

Tracking can use a webcam or iPhone, with additional support for Leap Motion, audio-based lip trackers and Tobii eye trackers. Animaze also supports lip sync, full-body and hand tracking, virtual camera output and recording, including webcam recording. This makes it more than a static avatar overlay, but users who want to build an elaborate look from the included Originals should weigh the Pro editing limits.

Streaming integrations include OBS, Streamlabs, Discord, Zoom, Google Meet, Twitch, YouTube and Facebook Gaming. Plus adds 60 FPS streaming, a dedicated capture window and MP4 export, which are meaningful upgrades for creators who need those output options rather than just basic avatar use.

For developers, the Enterprise SDK offers cross-platform APIs for adding interactive digital characters to iOS, Android or PC apps, alongside commercial rights, IP protection tools and bespoke engineering. The EEA privacy policy says camera images and facial tracking data are used at runtime but are not collected, recorded or stored by the company. Support includes FAQ, documentation and contact support; business plans include fast-track support.

Pricing

Animaze has a free Basic plan with 80+ free items. It suits people who want to start without a subscription, but it does not include the Plus feature bundle or the Pro plan's stated editable Originals allowance. The headline starting price is $1.67/mo (annual); Plus is 3.99 USD per month, billed $47.88/year, and Pro is 9.99 USD per month, billed $119.88/year.

Plus is the practical step up for creators who need watermark removal, Animaze Original content, 60 FPS streaming, a dedicated capture window and MP4 video export. Pro is aimed at users who want defined editing allowances for Originals—two avatars, five accessories, two backgrounds and three emotes—but those caps constrain larger customization projects.

Small Business costs 499.99 USD per year (billed $499.99) for businesses generating less than $175,000. It includes fast-track support, watermark removal, 60 FPS, MP4 export and paid content access. Business Plus costs 1699.99 USD per year (billed $1699.99) for businesses generating more than $175,000, with the same stated feature bundle. Both business tiers require a separate Live2D commercial license for 2D avatars, so the plan price alone does not cover that licensing need.

Enterprise has custom pricing and is for companies needing a tailored solution, commercial rights, IP protection tools, bespoke engineering or the SDK. It is not a self-serve substitute for the creator tiers.

Platforms

Animaze is listed for Windows, iOS and Android, and also offers an API. Its avatar-editor workflow is specifically described for PC, while the enterprise APIs target iOS, Android and PC apps.

Who it's for

Streamers, YouTubers and VTubers who already have a 2D or 3D avatar—or want to choose among supported import formats—are the clearest fit. Artists and creatives can use the editor and tracker options to bring model assets into animated output. Businesses have dedicated paid tiers, but should account for the separate Live2D commercial license when using 2D avatars; app teams seeking character integration have a more appropriate route in Enterprise.

Animaze is less compelling for someone who only needs a minimal avatar setup and does not need its wider import, integration or output options. In that case, a free alternative may be enough.

Pros and cons

Pros: Broad import support across Live2D and multiple 3D formats lets creators reuse existing character work.
Pros: Webcam and iPhone tracking, plus optional specialist trackers, support different creator setups.
Pros: Integration with major streaming, chat and meeting tools makes the avatar useful beyond live streams.
Cons: Pro places firm limits on editable Holotech Originals content, which can restrict customization.
Cons: Business plans do not include the separate Live2D commercial license required for 2D avatars.
Cons: Enterprise is custom pricing, so companies needing its SDK and tailored services cannot assess a fixed plan cost upfront.

Alternatives

VTube Studio is a sensible alternative for creators focused on Live2D: its free plan includes Live2D model support, webcam and smartphone tracking, and voice-based lip sync.

XR Animator is worth considering if a free option is the priority; its public version is free and spans Android, Linux, macOS, web and Windows.

Webcam Motion Capture offers a free plan with all tracking features available to try, making it an option for users whose main concern is exploring tracking rather than Animaze's broader avatar workflow.

nizima LIVE may suit a creator who wants a free plan with a clear camera-use allowance: it permits 40 minutes of continuous camera use per month for one user, with a logo displayed and some features limited.

veadotube is a free alternative for users seeking software across Windows, Linux and macOS.

Warudo is an option for personal-use creators who want software that is free for personal use; commercial use requires contacting Warudo.

PNGTuber Plus is a free choice for creators seeking PNG avatar customization and sprite sheets.

VRL Cam is another alternative.

Verdict

Animaze is a strong fit for creators who want to import existing 2D or 3D avatars, choose among several tracking methods and connect animated output to streaming or meeting tools. Its broad workflow is the main reason to choose it; its tier limits and separate Live2D commercial licensing requirement are the main reasons to look elsewhere or check terms before committing.
