What Wikibase is
Wikibase is free, open-source software for pooling, editing and curating structured information for people and computers. It is intended for institutions, research projects and communities building searchable, multilingual, linked knowledge bases, with data prepared for the Linked Open Data web. Wikibase Cloud is a free hosted option from Wikimedia Deutschland with a simpler feature set. Wikibase Suite is a supported Docker Compose deployment for a publicly accessible server and includes MediaWiki with Wikibase, a job runner, MariaDB, OpenSearch, SPARQL query services, QuickStatements and Traefik. Federation connects data in other Wikibases and query services through SPARQL. QuickStatements provides web-based importing and manipulation of large data sets. Suite requires a public Linux server with an x86 processor, at least 8 GB RAM and 4 GB storage; Ubuntu is recommended. Its installer documentation says local installations are not intended. The Suite deployment includes TLS termination and certificate renewal through Traefik.
