What Tonata is
Tonata is an Android music practice companion that combines a drone, metronome, and beats at one tempo. Its drone can sound up to six notes simultaneously in equal or just intonation, with multiple timbres. The metronome covers 30–300 BPM, simple, compound, and odd meters, editable accents, tap tempo, and setlists. Beats provide genre-spanning grooves, sampled kits, swing, intensity, fills, and per-element mute or solo controls. Combinations of drone, tempo, and groove can be saved as one-tap presets. Audio continues when the screen sleeps, another app is open, or the phone is locked, with lock-screen controls. Tonata works offline after installation, without network calls or cloud storage, and stores practice data locally. It uses Oboe and includes a Bluetooth offset slider for headphone lag. The one-time Google Play purchase is 9.99 USD, with no subscription or in-app purchases.
