SQLStream
SQLStream is a self-hosted database query monitor for Linux, macOS, and the web.
What SQLStream is
SQLStream is a self-hosted database query monitor for Linux, macOS, and the web. AI agents scan query patterns every five minutes for N+1 queries, missing indexes, slow queries, and anomalies, then produce reports with SQL fixes, index recommendations, and performance projections. A live stream shows queries as they run and can be filtered by type, duration, database, or regex. Latency histograms present P50, P95, and P99 by query fingerprint and compare deploy baselines. Captured queries support one-click EXPLAIN ANALYZE. SQLStream runs as a single Go binary with connection pooling, TLS passthrough, and automatic reconnection; applications can fall back to a direct database connection if the proxy fails. The proxy stays in the customer’s infrastructure and sends anonymized metadata, not table contents, credentials, connection strings, or query results. Data uses TLS 1.3 in transit and AES-256 at rest. Pro costs $299, paid once and includes one year of updates.

Who it suits
SQLStream suits teams monitoring PostgreSQL or MySQL query performance in their own infrastructure. It requires users to supply an OpenAI, Anthropic, or local Ollama API key.
Verdict
SQLStream combines continuous query visibility with AI-generated performance guidance and captured query plans. Its self-hosted proxy and stated data-handling limits suit infrastructure-conscious database teams.
