What SoftMaker Office is

SoftMaker Office is a paid office suite for documents, spreadsheets, and presentations, with versions for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android. TextMaker handles word processing, PlanMaker spreadsheets, and Presentations slide decks. DOCX, XLSX, and PPTX are native formats, so the suite works with those file types without conversion. TextMaker can export PDF and PDF/A files and create PDF forms, with options for password protection, encryption, accessibility, and font embedding. PlanMaker offers more than 80 chart types and opens and saves XLSX and XLS files, including password-protected files. Writing tools include spell checking in more than 85 languages, LanguageTool grammar and style checking in over 30, and DeepL translation in 30. TextMaker also supports Zotero and includes ChatGPT features. The suite has a 30-day trial and no free plan. NX subscriptions start at US$2.99 per month; Professional 2026 costs US$139.95 once. Some features, including BasicMaker macros and the advanced font manager, are Windows-only.
