Shepherd is cloud-based veterinary practice management software for veterinary clinics. Its SOAP workflow updates the medical record and invoice and generates discharge instructions. Shepherd lists TranscribeAI for generating SOAP notes and DiagnoseAI for clinical decision support and treatment suggestions. The client portal supports appointment and prescription refill requests, medical history, and vaccine certificates. Shepherd Pay is integrated into the PIMS and supports USB terminals, stored cards, and online payments through the pet portal. The subscription includes unlimited users and work stations, expert training, veterinary-experienced support, Shepherd Pay, and no implementation fees; ShepherdAI features are optional. Its integrations directory lists connections including IDEXX diagnostics, HomeAgain, AllyDVM, CoVet, and PetDesk, while the help center also lists Shepherd OpenAPI. Shepherd says onboarding typically takes four to six weeks without historical data migration, or eight to ten weeks when migrating historical records. Pricing is discussed during a demo. The company reports an annually renewed SOC 2 Type II examination and says production data is hosted on AWS in Ohio across multiple availability zones.
