What SafeSquid Secure Web Gateway is
SafeSquid Secure Web Gateway is an HTTP proxy and secure web gateway for controlling web access and protecting web applications in reverse proxy mode. It categorizes websites, identifies applications and applies policies to manage user access. For encrypted HTTPS traffic, it can inspect connections using an enterprise root certificate or its own self-signed certificate. Malware scanning options include a built-in scanner, ClamAV and integrations with ICAP services or other third-party detection systems. Its data-loss prevention features can detect configured keyword patterns in uploads and restrict uploads to limit sensitive data leaving a network. SafeSquid supports directory services such as Active Directory and OpenLDAP, Kerberos single sign-on and Linux-PAM authentication. It can integrate with DNSBL services and send logs to remote aggregators and SIEM systems. Deployment options include standard server hardware, a virtual appliance or a private cloud; multiple proxy nodes can form load-balanced or failover clusters. Configuration backup provides version history for up to 365 days. The product supports Linux and Windows and is available as a paid annual subscription, with pricing on request. The subscription stops working if it is not renewed.
