Power Walkthrough is web-based classroom observation software from McREL for instructional coaches and school leaders. It helps users collect information during classroom walkthroughs, organize observations, and use the results in coaching and professional development conversations. Customizable templates draw on McREL research, including frameworks from The New Classroom Instruction That Works and Classroom Instruction That Works with English Language Learners. Reports consolidate data from multiple walkthroughs into dashboard-style views to inform coaching and help prioritize professional development. The product also offers instant teacher feedback, including a PDF for teachers. McREL says the software has been used for more than 1.4 million classroom walkthroughs around the world. Intended users include instructional coaches, principals, and assistant principals. The software is intended to support coaching and professional development, not formal evaluations. The annual plan costs $450 a year per user; training is described separately. Training options are three to seven one-hour webinars or a two-day onsite workshop for up to 40 participants.
