What MoluCAD is

MoluCAD is a free Windows desktop program for molecular modeling and visualization, designed for chemistry students. Users can build molecular structures in true 3D and inspect them from different perspectives, as well as create reaction animations. The product page describes more than 170 sample structures and animations that users can open, view, and modify. MoluCAD includes built-in MM2 energy minimization, an interactive periodic table, and HTML-based help. It supports input and output for PDB, ENT, MOL, and MM3 files, and can generate BMP, JPEG, and AVI files. The software originated in a three-year National Institutes of Health biomedical technology research project intended to produce low-cost educational software for chemistry students.
