MODX is a content management system and application framework for building custom digital experiences.
What MODX is
MODX is a content management system and application framework for building custom digital experiences. It can model blogs, landing pages, catalogs, forms, PDFs, and dynamically generated CSV downloads, with custom input fields for content. Reusable Templates, Chunks, Snippets, and Plugins render pages and add functionality or logic. Editorial workflows, custom user roles, multilingual content, SEO tools, and a media library support publishing and management. Community-made Extras extend it with options for menus, maps, e-commerce, OAuth, social features, and SEO. Attribute-based access controls support content protection and access scenarios. MODX can connect to API-enabled services through JavaScript snippets, Extras, or Zapier; its Zapier Extra provides access to over 500 applications. It is available as self-hosted software, through an API, and as a web service. MODX Cloud offers managed hosting for MODX and other PHP applications. The maker was founded in 2004 and is headquartered in Dallas, Texas.
