Mirror

What Mirror is

Mirror is a free mental health journaling app for self-reflection, available on iOS and Android in the United States. Users can write entries, record voice notes or make video entries, with guided prompts and exercises to help get started. Mood check-ins are intended to help users recognize emotional and behavioral patterns. Mirror can use a large language model hosted on its servers to summarize one journal entry at a time and transcribe voice entries into text. The site says journal entries are stored on the user’s device, not Mirror’s servers. Its privacy policy says de-identified summaries may be aggregated and processed to improve the app and for quality control. Mirror describes biometric and PIN protections, including Face ID, and says it complies with SOC2, CCPA and COPPA. The app also links to local helplines and other resources for users who need support. The Child Mind Institute describes it as designed to support the mental health and emotional well-being of teens and young adults. Mirror says it is not a crisis response or medical service.
