What Grindstone is

Grindstone is an app for tracking time spent on work, with project tracking, offline tracking, and data export. Its timer records a time slice when you begin a work item, and you can create an item by entering its name. When you return after leaving your computer, Grindstone asks how to handle the time away and adjusts the record. Custom properties can organize items with fields such as client lists. Filtered views can notify you when entries match their criteria, including reminders for due dates and estimates. View contents can be exported or copied to the clipboard, and the graph feature presents information as charts or tables. The free Grindstone app is available for Windows. Grindstone Sync adds team tracking and assignments with due dates, estimates, and completion dates. Sync Cloud costs $5 a month, billed monthly per active user, with one team per subscription. Sync Server costs $10 a month, billed monthly up front, with one team per server. A 30-day trial is available. Sync Server can run on a customer’s network and requires Windows Server and SQL Server licenses.
