Family Journal

What Family Journal is

Family Journal is a private space for relatives to preserve family stories, memories, photos, and videos. Members can write letters, record videos, attach photos, and add voice reactions to photos. Each entry can be visible only to its author, shared with selected people, or opened to the whole family. The archive can be explored by person, year, or event and includes a family tree across generations. An AI writing assistant can expand notes into letters in a chosen tone, and voice entries can be transcribed and structured. Connecting Google Photos automatically organizes photos and videos in a Family Journal album. Apple PhotoKit auto-sync is still in development, though manual export is available at launch. Family Journal says entries and media are encrypted at rest and in transit and that it cannot read them. The invitation-only family space has no ads, algorithms, or strangers. It works on Android, iOS, macOS, and the web. The Free plan costs nothing and supports up to five family members, with no credit card required.
