Credyt
Credyt is billing infrastructure for AI products, available through web and API.
What Credyt is
Credyt is billing infrastructure for AI products, available through web and API. It supports usage-based, subscription, hybrid, credits, tokens, entitlements, and seat-based billing. Usage can be authorized, priced, and debited as it happens, and wallets can hold USD, tokens, GPU hours, or custom units. A branded customer portal provides top-ups, transaction history, and auto-recharge.
Developers can connect Stripe, Adyen, Checkout.com, payment providers with hosted payment flows, webhooks, OpenAPI, SDKs, and an MCP server. The MCP server is listed for tools including Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf, ChatGPT, Lovable, Bolt, v0, and Replit. The free plan is for building and testing, with the first 10 active wallets free each month. Production pricing is $1 per active wallet per month; the first 1M events/month are free. Credyt does not currently support usage metered during a period and invoiced in arrears. Customer data is stored in one Azure region without region selection.

- Customer data is stored in one Azure region
- Production costs $1 per active wallet per month
Who it suits
Credyt is aimed at vibe coders, AI companies, and scaling businesses with engineering, finance, operations, or product billing needs. It may suit teams that want real-time usage charging or prepaid credits rather than arrears invoicing.
Verdict
Credyt combines real-time billing, multiple wallet types, and developer integrations, with free test access and production pricing per active wallet. Teams needing period-long metering followed by arrears invoicing will need another approach.

The full review of Credyt
Credyt is real-time monetization infrastructure for AI products and other software that charge through wallets, credits, subscriptions, or usage. It is best for engineering and product teams that need balances updated as consumption occurs, while conventional postpaid billing teams should look elsewhere.
Overview
Credyt handles authorization, pricing, and debiting as a usage event happens, rather than waiting for a batch run. That makes it a strong fit for products where access depends on a current balance, such as AI services selling tokens, GPU time, or prepaid credits. Its scope is broader than metering alone: subscription, hybrid, entitlement, seat-based, credit, and token models are supported.
The central trade-off is important. Credyt does not meter usage throughout a billing period and then invoice in arrears, and it does not generate invoices. Businesses built around monthly postpaid statements therefore need a different billing architecture.
Key features
Multi-asset wallets can hold USD, tokens, GPU hours, or custom units. This is useful when one customer account may consume several resource types or when balances must be replenished before service continues. A branded self-service portal provides top-ups, transaction history, and auto-recharge, giving customers direct control over those balances instead of forcing every adjustment through support.
Credyt supports unit, volume, unit-and-volume, and dimensional rating, plus API metering and event ingestion. Those rating choices cover straightforward per-unit charges as well as pricing that combines quantity or multiple dimensions. The platform connects to Stripe, Adyen, Checkout.com, and other payment service providers that support hosted payment flows. Webhooks, OpenAPI, SDKs, and an MCP server provide integration paths for product teams.
The MCP server works with Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf, ChatGPT, Lovable, Bolt, v0, and Replit. That breadth is particularly relevant to teams building AI products through these tools, although the value still depends on how much of the surrounding billing workflow they want to implement themselves.
Security controls include API-key and OAuth authentication, separate environment-scoped test and live keys, role-based access control, and rate-limited requests. Infrastructure runs on Microsoft Azure, with TLS 1.2 or newer in transit and AES-256 encryption at rest. Stripe Connect is used for payment handling, and Credyt says it does not process, store, or access raw card or PCI data. Data can be erased on request or exported, and a DPA is available on request. Customer data is currently kept in one Azure region with no region-selection option, while SOC 2 certification is still under evaluation.
Pricing
| Plan | Price | What it includes |
|---|---|---|
| To start | free | Free forever for building and testing; the first 10 active wallets each month are free forever; full feature access in test mode; no credit card and no time limit. |
| In production | $1 a month | Charged per active wallet per month; the first 1M events per month are free; volume discounts are available; inactive wallets cost $0. |
The free plan is unusually practical for prototyping because it has no expiry, payment requirement, or time limit, but it is explicitly test-mode access and caps the free allowance at 10 active wallets monthly. Production billing starts at $1 per active wallet per month, not per seat or per event, and the first million monthly events are included. That structure favors products with many events per wallet and makes dormant accounts inexpensive. Teams should still model wallet counts, since active-wallet growth—not event volume—drives the base charge.
Platforms
Credyt is offered through an API and web interfaces. The API-oriented delivery suits teams embedding billing into their own product, while the web portal supplies customer-facing wallet management.
Who it's for
Vibe coders, AI companies, and scaling businesses are the stated audience, with relevant work for engineering, finance, operations, and product teams. Choose Credyt when real-time authorization, prepaid balances, or mixed asset wallets are central to the product. Avoid it when finance requires period-end usage aggregation followed by arrears invoices.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Atomic real-time charging: balances and access decisions update as usage occurs, avoiding batch delays and unexpected month-end totals.
- Flexible wallet assets: USD, tokens, GPU hours, and custom units support AI-specific commercial models.
- Low-friction testing: the free plan has no time limit or card requirement and includes full test-mode features.
- Broad integration surface: major payment providers, hosted flows, webhooks, SDKs, OpenAPI, and MCP cover common implementation routes.
Cons
- No arrears metering or invoices: postpaid period billing and invoice generation are outside the product's current scope.
- Single-region storage: customers cannot select an Azure region, which may matter for residency requirements.
- SOC 2 is not complete: certification is still being evaluated.
Alternatives
For a broader shortlist, see Usage-Based Billing Software.
- Aforo suits teams wanting a free 50K-events-per-month Starter plan, one storefront, six pricing models, basic revenue intelligence, and Stripe integration.
- Flexprice is the better starting point when a free Developer plan with up to 100,000 events monthly, basic invoice generation, one pricing plan, and 14-day retention is sufficient.
- Lago is worth choosing for AGPLv3 open-source, self-hosted deployment.
- Solvimon fits qualifying users seeking usage metering for tokens and API calls with unlimited credits and wallets.
- Zuora CPQ is an enterprise option with scope- and volume-dependent custom pricing.
- Aria Billing is another paid API and web billing platform.
- Cheddar suits buyers comfortable with a $99 monthly Builder plan plus 30¢ per transaction and multiple payment gateways.
- OpenMeter is a free option available through API, web, and self-hosted deployments.
Verdict
Credyt is a strong choice for AI and software products that need prepaid, wallet-based, or hybrid charging with immediate balance enforcement. Its free forever test access and $1-per-active-wallet production model keep early adoption straightforward. Look elsewhere if your core requirement is postpaid usage invoicing, built-in invoice generation, selectable data regions, or a completed SOC 2 program.
