What ConflictsCheck is
ConflictsCheck is a web service for solo attorneys and small law firms to record parties and matters, screen prospective matters for potential conflicts, and preserve an exportable audit trail. Firms can import client or matter spreadsheets as CSV, which the service parses and normalizes. Entity resolution combines fuzzy name matching, officer and agent cross-referencing, and searches across matter history. New-matter checks show potential conflicts, confidence scores, and the connection found. Each check records parties, result, timestamp, and attorney decision, with CSV export for bar-audit reporting. ConflictsCheck flags possibilities for attorney review and does not clear them on the attorney’s behalf. Results depend on the parties, matters, and relationships entered by the firm, so false positives and false negatives can occur. The privacy policy says data is encrypted in transit over HTTPS, passwords are hashed, and access controls are used. Individual costs $29 a month per attorney; Small Firm costs $99 a month for up to five attorneys. Both are recurring subscriptions that renew until canceled, and a 14-day trial is available.
Good
- CSV import and normalization
- Fuzzy entity and relationship matching
- Confidence-scored conflict results
- Exportable audit trail
- Bar-audit export included
Watch out
- No free plan
- Attorney must review every flag
- False positives and negatives possible
- Data limited to entered relationships
Who it suits
It is intended for solo attorneys and small law firms managing party records and conflict checks. Firms needing CSV onboarding, relationship matching, and exportable decisions may find it suitable.
Verdict
ConflictsCheck organizes conflict screening and preserves decisions in an exportable record for smaller legal practices. Its automated matching supports review but does not replace the attorney’s responsibility or eliminate possible matching errors.
