What ChemLab is

ChemLab is an interactive chemistry lab simulation for classroom, lab, and internet use, with a lab notebook for theory, procedures, and student observations. Its pre-designed general chemistry experiments cover high-school and college topics such as acid-base reactions, electrochemistry, equilibrium, gas laws, kinetics, redox, and stoichiometry. Additional simulations are available from third parties. Standard lets students run experiments; Professional adds Lab Wizard tools for instructors to run, edit, and create simulations, plus an expandable chemical database. Professional users can record a simulation, add comments, and save a demonstration file for Standard users to play back. The software also supports animated experiments, plug-in lab extensions, RasMol integration, and an integrated periodic table application with a quiz. It is described for distance learning, pre-lab preparation, demonstrations, and practice with dangerous, hazardous, expensive, or lengthy labs. ChemLab is available for Windows, macOS, and iPad in English, Spanish, French, and Italian.
