Administrators can manage enrollment and participation, employee and dependent records, communications, reporting, data exchange, cases, and documents. The platform covers health, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, voluntary benefits, and health accounts. It uses APIs for integrations, including pre-integrations with HCM and payroll providers; insurance providers can exchange data using LIMRA LDEx file-based or API-based standards. Its Android and iOS app supports benefits access, enrollment, life event changes, document submission, year-round shopping, and secure messaging. Some health claims features require Health Insights. Benefitfocus says it can support requirements such as ACA compliance and describes safeguards for protected health information. Its security assessments include annual SOC 1 Type 2, SOC 2 Type 2, and PCI DSS reviews, plus HITRUST assessments every two years with an interim assessment.
