New details have emerged regarding the upcoming Redmi Pad 2, the successor to Xiaomi’s first tablet offering. According to reliable Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, the Redmi Pad 2 will boast a display ranging from 10 to 11 inches, featuring an LCD panel with a 2K resolution and a refresh rate of 90Hz. The tablet is also said to sport an 8 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front-facing camera for selfies.
Digital Chat Station suggests that the Redmi Pad 2 will be positioned as an entry-level model, indicating an affordable price point. Further details regarding the tablet’s features and specifications remain undisclosed at this time. However, based on the leaked information, it appears that the Redmi Pad 2 will offer incremental improvements over its predecessor. Under the hood, the Redmi Pad 2 is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 680 processor, offering capable performance for everyday tasks. Additionally, the device is rumored to house a generous 8,000mAh battery, providing ample power for extended usage periods.
The previous iteration, the Redmi Pad, introduced last year, showcased a 10.6-inch display with a 2K resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. It included Widevine L1 certification for HD content streaming on various over-the-top (OTT) apps. The tablet boasted Dolby Atmos-certified quad-speakers and dual microphones for enhanced audio experiences. Powered by the Helio G99 SoC, it offered up to 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. The device relied on an 8,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.
