Both Xiaomi China and Xiaomi Global have been teasing the launch of Mi Smart 6. The brand will simultaneously launch in both China and Global markets on March 29.
We saw the image of the Mi Smart Band 6 leak a couple of days back when it passed through a certification authority. The image gave us the side view but was enough to let us know that the overall design would be similar to the last generation Mi Smart Band 5. Now, Xiaomi has been teasing the Band with a slightly larger display and more watch faces.
If we go by their social media posts, the Mi Smart Band 6 could sport a display as large as 1.4-inches and we could expect a bumped-up battery as well. As for other features, we expect that this new generation Band will have support for SPO2 monitoring something that had been lacking on the previous models.
Previous leaks have pointed out the fact that we might be seeing in-built GPS and Alexa support on this new band as well. Xiaomi has also been boasting about the tracking metrics and how the new band can track 30 different workout modes. These may include outdoor running, walking, cycling, indoor running, swimming, exercise, indoor cycling, elliptical machine, skipping rope, yoga, and rowing machine. The Mi band 6 will add 19 more that includes Indoor fitness, Indoor ice skating, HIIT, Core Training, Stretching, Stepper, Gymnastics, Pilates, Street dance, Dance, Zumba, Cricket, Bowling, Basketball, Volleyball, Table tennis, Badminton, Boxing, Kickboxing and many more.
Other features that we expect to be carried over from the last generation band include, PAI, heart rate tracking, sleep monitoring, activity monitor, alarms, and notification access. There is still no word on the India availability but we hope Xiaomi could bring this to the country sometime next month with the Mi 11 series.
