In October of last year, Xiaomi India partnered with Airtel to introduce non-Standalone (NSA) 5G technology to their portfolio of over 20 Xiaomi and Redmi 5G devices. Shortly after, they teamed up with Reliance Jio in December to bring Standalone (SA) 5G technology to multiple devices.
The company has recently announced that they will soon be providing an update to enable SA 5G support to several devices that are yet to receive this functionality. Xiaomi assures its customers and fans that it is working hard to resolve these issues in real time. The company intends to align all of its primary products with this update to deliver a seamless, connected 5G experience, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Xiaomi reports that the Mi 11X, 11X Pro, and Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G have already received 5G SA support through an OTA update. Additionally, Xiaomi promises that the Mi 10, Mi 10i, Mi 10T, and Mi 10T Pro will receive an update soon to enable this functionality.
Xiaomi has not revealed the precise time frame for the rollout of the update, but they have reassured customers that they will disclose additional details on their social media channels closer to the update’s release.
Xiaomi India’s latest announcement regarding the provision of Jio 5G connectivity to the Mi 10 series has been well-received by customers who have been complaining about the lack of availability. However, some customers remain doubtful about when the OTA update will be released and whether it will bring about additional issues, as this has been a common problem with Xiaomi smartphones in recent times.
