The Redmi 11 Prime 5G has recently been seen on the official Xiaomi website which is a clear sign of the smartphone is about to make its debut in India sometime soon. The device has been included in the company’s monthly security update list, which, incidentally, also included the Redmi 10A Sport which went on to launch in India just this Wednesday.
The security update device list that the Chinese company releases every month and has been shared on Twitter by Kacper Skrzypek includes the name of a new smartphone that is yet to be launched. The phone, as mentioned in the list is the Redmi 11 Prime 5G. Unfortunately, there is nothing much that we know of the Redmi 11 Prime 5G. However, the phone is likely to be sold exclusively in India and will perhaps be slotted in the mid-range segment of smartphones.
However, there won’t likely be much delay in the launch of the smartphone, and we might have an official announcement on this soon. As for the Redmi 10A Sport that was launched only on Wednesday, it comes powered by a MediaTek Helio G25 chipset. There is 6 GB of RAM onboard along with 128 GB of storage, it being further expandable to up to 512 GB via micro SD cards.
The phone features a 6.53-inch IPS LCD display having a pixel density of 269 PPI. A 5000 mAh battery keeps the lights on and runs MIUI 12.5 which is based on Android 11. There is a fingerprint sensor included in the rear as well. The phone also features a single 13 MP sensor at the rear while the front gets a 5 MP sensor for selfies and video chats.
On the whole, the Redmi 10A Sport is squarely aimed at the budget segment and is designed to offer decent levels of performance as well as good quality pictures at an affordable price point. The phone is listed on Amazon for Rs. 10,999 for the base model.
Expect the Redmi 11 Prime 5G to be positioned higher in the mid-range segment.
