No. “Copyright-free” is not a reliable blanket description of AI-generated music. A track may be offered under a vendor’s license for certain uses, while the track itself may not qualify for copyright protection. The distinction matters if you add music to a video on your Xiaomi, Redmi, or POCO phone and later post, monetize, or distribute it.
What “Copyright-Free” Can Mean
People often use “copyright-free” to mean either that they can use a track without paying royalties, or that nobody owns copyright in it. Those are different questions. A vendor may grant permission to use a track under its terms without making the track public domain or guaranteeing that you can claim copyright over it.

In a mixed work, human-authored parts may be protected. If you register a work containing more than a minimal amount of AI-generated material, you must disclose that material and describe your contribution. Does A Vendor’s Commercial License Give You Copyright?
No. A commercial-use license is permission under the vendor’s terms; it does not itself establish that the music is copyrightable, exclusive, or free of every third-party claim. Read the current terms for the specific plan and intended use, and keep the track’s license or certificate if the vendor offers one. A product’s “royalty-free” or “commercial” label is not the same as a legal ruling on authorship.

What Selected AI Music Services Say About Use
These are vendor statements and plan limitations, not independent guarantees of copyright ownership. Check the linked terms before using a track, especially for monetized video, advertising, client work, games, or a music release.
| Service | What The Available Terms Say | Practical Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Suno | Suno says songs created as a paid subscriber are yours to use, including as video background music or in an album. Its Free Plan does not include commercial rights. | The paid-use statement does not establish that a fully AI-generated song is copyrightable. Check the plan terms for your use. |
| Eleven Music | ElevenLabs describes tracks as cleared for broad commercial use, with rights varying by subscription tier. | The listed limitation excludes film, TV, and studio games; access is through web and API. Check the applicable tier and terms. |
| Loudly | Loudly describes its music as royalty-free and commercially licensed. | Free generated tracks are limited to 30 seconds; paid licensing rights depend on plan terms. |
| Mureka | Mureka says downloads include full commercial rights for use across platforms and projects. | Check its current license for the plan and project you have in mind. |
| Musicful | Musicful says downloaded tracks receive a non-exclusive, perpetual license and offers a commercial license certificate. | Musicful retains ownership; commercial use is limited to Standard and Pro plans. Free and Basic use is non-commercial. |
| OpenMusic AI | OpenMusic says generated tracks are royalty-free, cleared for commercial use, and come with a license. | Its plan terms govern downloads and commercial licensing; check them for your intended use. |
| Songin.ai | Songin says paid-plan music can be used commercially. Its listed Free plan is for personal use and has no commercial rights. | Free downloads are watermarked MP3 files; multitrack stem exports require Premium. |
| Tunee | Tunee says paid subscribers receive commercial rights; free users may use music for personal projects with attribution. | Tunee also says AI music copyright law is evolving and it cannot guarantee copyright protection. |
How To Use AI Music In A Phone Video
For a clip edited on a Xiaomi, Redmi, or POCO phone, decide what you need before generating: background music for a personal post, monetized channel, ad, or client project can trigger different license requirements. The following workflow keeps the rights question attached to the actual video.

- Describe the scene and musical role. For example: “Instrumental background music for a 20-second handheld night-market food clip; warm, light percussion, gentle bass, no vocals, leave space for spoken narration, calm ending.” This is a creative prompt, not a rights clearance.
- Choose a service and plan whose stated terms cover your intended use. If the vendor does not clearly establish the relevant use, check its site or choose another track.
- Save the original track and its license evidence. Keep the plan details, download date, and any license certificate or receipt alongside the video project.
- Before posting, check the destination platform’s current rules. A vendor license does not guarantee monetization, prevent a platform claim, or make repetitive uploads eligible for monetization.
Voices, Covers, And Uploaded Audio Need Extra Care
A license for generated music does not automatically grant permission to imitate a real singer, make a cover, or reuse someone else’s recording. Get consent for a real person’s voice or performance and check the AI service’s terms for voice use, covers, reference audio, and samples before generating or publishing. Spotify says vocal impersonation is allowed only when the impersonated artist has authorized it. YouTube requires creators to label realistic altered or synthetic content that could be mistaken for a real person’s performance. Spotify AI protections announcement YouTube policy clarification

What You Can Safely Conclude
- “Allowed for commercial use” describes a vendor’s permission under its terms; it does not by itself mean the music is copyright-free or copyrightable.
- Under the U.S. Copyright Office’s stated position, a wholly AI-generated track is not copyrightable, while human-authored contributions may be.
- For a phone video, confirm the specific plan covers the use, retain its license evidence, and handle voice, cover, or sample permissions separately.
