Overview

Toolio is a web-based merchandising platform for retailers that brings planning, forecasting and operational workflows into one place. It is best suited to merchants, planners and finance teams coordinating retail or fashion plans across a growing brand or larger enterprise. Its breadth is appealing, but custom pricing and integrations still marked “Coming Soon” make fit and availability important checks.

Key features

Toolio combines merchandise, open-to-buy, assortment and allocation planning, with size and color, location, seasonal, scenario and channel planning. That makes it a practical candidate for teams that want connected planning across products, stores and channels rather than separate workflows. Custom views let users choose metrics, attributes and timeframes, while retail- and fashion-oriented dashboards and workflows provide a focused starting point.

AI-driven demand forecasting and scenario planning account for out-of-stocks, promotions, holiday shifts and unusual events. These capabilities are relevant when plans need to reflect changing demand conditions, though the platform’s value will depend on how well its workflows fit a retailer’s own data and operating practices.

Purchase orders, transfers and replenishments can be managed and approved in one place, then exported to an ERP. Workflow automation, exception insights and chatbot weekly recaps add ways to surface work and keep teams aligned. Real-time sharing, comments, notifications and granular read/write access support collaboration without giving every user the same permissions.

The MCP Server connects Toolio data to Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Cursor and other MCP-compatible platforms. Toolio says access is read-only, actions require human approval and customer data is not used to train third-party AI models. Those controls make the connector more considered for teams exploring AI access, but it does not replace a review of the organization’s own governance requirements. Toolio states that it is SOC 2 Type II audited.

Toolio describes integrations across BI and data warehouses, ERP and inventory management, e-commerce and POS, and PLM and supply chain. Several named connectors, including Shopify, Salesforce and NetSuite, are marked “Coming Soon,” so retailers should confirm that essential connections are ready before committing.

Pricing

Toolio is paid, with custom pricing available by contacting the company. The Toolio plan includes size and color, location, seasonal, scenario, open-to-buy and channel planning. No public seat limits or usage caps are stated, so teams should confirm the price, included access and any constraints directly before comparing it with alternatives.

Toolio says most customers complete implementation and run their first planning cycle within a few months, depending on data complexity and team size. That is a meaningful onboarding commitment for a business evaluating a new planning system, particularly if its data is complex or its team is large.

Platforms

Toolio runs on the web, making it a fit for teams working remotely in a browser. No mobile or desktop app platform is stated.

Who it's for

Toolio is aimed at retail and fashion planning teams, from growing brands to global enterprises. Merchants, planners and finance teams stand to benefit most when they need to coordinate assortment, allocation, buying and replenishment workflows. It is less compelling for a retailer whose required systems depend on connectors that have not yet launched, or for a buyer seeking transparent public pricing.

Pros and cons

Pro: Planning spans open-to-buy, assortment, allocation, seasonal, channel, location and size-and-color needs, giving retail teams a broad planning toolkit.
Pro: Purchase orders, transfers and replenishments can be approved in one place and exported to an ERP, linking planning with operational work.
Pro: Read-only MCP access, human approval for actions and a stated no-training policy for customer data give teams concrete AI governance controls to assess.
Con: Pricing is custom rather than published, so buyers must contact Toolio to establish cost and plan terms.
Con: Several named integrations are marked “Coming Soon,” which may rule it out for teams that need those connections immediately.
Con: Implementation can take a few months, with timing dependent on data complexity and team size.

Verdict

Choose Toolio if your retail or fashion team wants planning, forecasting, approvals and collaboration connected in a web platform, and its workflows match your operating model. Its strongest case is the combination of retail-specific planning breadth and shared operational processes. Look elsewhere if you need confirmed integrations that are still coming soon or a public price to make a quick, direct cost comparison.
