Overview

SyncManufacturing is an advanced planning and scheduling tool for discrete manufacturers managing complex production. It is best suited to operations with changing demand, varied products, multistep routings, and scarce capacity; smaller or simpler shops may not need this level of planning. Its appeal is the combination of finite-capacity scheduling and shop-floor feedback, while the need to request a quote and plan an implementation makes it a considered purchase.

Key features

Finite-capacity scheduling accounts for labor, machines, materials, and other production resources. That makes it relevant when a schedule must reflect what the plant can actually produce, rather than simply assign dates to orders. Material, machine, and labor constraints are covered, as are multi-site scheduling and scenario planning.

Shop-floor feedback can drive schedule adjustments as production conditions change. Planners can also drag and drop work and see the effect on priorities, capacity, and delivery dates. These controls support active rescheduling, but they are most useful where teams can keep production data current and have a clear process for acting on schedule changes.

Bottleneck management helps teams identify and address constraints before they reduce throughput. Version 8 adds native dashboards for Cycle Time Variance, Order Release Adherence, CONLOAD Adherence, On Time to Due Date, and Schedule Adherence, giving planners measures tied to execution and schedule performance.

SyncManufacturing can run standalone or connect with ERP, MES, and shop-floor data sources. Standard APIs connect it with ERP systems including SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor, and Epicor, and planning can align with MES systems. Synchrono consultants help customers identify useful scheduling data and choose an implementation path for their systems and processes; that guidance matters in complex environments, but buyers should account for the implementation effort.

Pricing

SyncManufacturing is paid software with custom pricing. The SyncManufacturing plan has no published price; contact Synchrono for a demo. Buyers should request a quote and assess implementation needs alongside the software cost. There is no free plan or trial stated for this product.

Platforms

SyncManufacturing is available on the web. It can operate as a standalone solution or connect to ERP, MES, and shop-floor systems.

Who it's for

This is a strong fit for discrete manufacturers facing variable demand, high product mix, multistep routings, and constrained resources. Those conditions make finite-capacity planning, bottleneck monitoring, and schedule updates especially relevant. Manufacturers with straightforward production needs may find its planning scope and implementation demands harder to justify.

Pros and cons

Pros

Schedules account for real constraints: Labor, machines, materials, and other resources factor into finite-capacity planning.
Supports schedule changes during production: Shop-floor feedback and drag-and-drop adjustments help planners respond to changing conditions and assess delivery impacts.
Fits connected or standalone deployments: ERP, MES, and shop-floor connections are supported, with standard APIs for several major ERP systems.
Useful execution measures: Version 8 dashboards cover adherence, cycle-time variance, and on-time delivery.

Cons

Pricing requires a sales conversation: Custom pricing and a demo request make upfront cost comparisons difficult.
Implementation needs planning: Choosing relevant production data and an integration path requires work with Synchrono consultants and the customer's systems and processes.
Its scope may exceed simpler operations: The product is aimed at complex discrete manufacturing, not teams with uncomplicated scheduling needs.

Alternatives

PlanetTogether APS is worth considering if a free trial or a choice between self-hosted and web platforms matters; its paid subscription fees are set on an order form and billed annually in advance.
Phoenix APS offers a free beta evaluation for teams that need a temporary, non-production evaluation license on Windows or through its API.
SkyPlanner APS may suit teams looking for a free trial and support across web, mobile, API, or a five-workstation plan.
GANTTPLAN APS is another paid option with a free trial; its Starter plan includes unlimited users and viewers, an ERP adapter, and deadline-based optimization.
SchedulePro may appeal to buyers who prefer a stated annual price: its Fixed License costs 4500.00 USD per year per copy and includes unlimited technical support and free upgrades while maintained.
Asprova APS is another paid APS option with a free trial; its package price is open, and implementation, training, consultation, and integration may add costs.
Accevo APS offers perpetual and subscription licensing for buyers weighing software ownership against a subscription arrangement.
CyberPlan APS is another paid, web-based option.

Verdict

Choose SyncManufacturing if your discrete operation needs schedules grounded in labor, machine, and material capacity, with a way to adjust plans as shop-floor conditions shift. Its constraint management, ERP/MES connectivity, and execution dashboards address the demands of complex production. Look elsewhere if you need transparent upfront pricing, a quick self-service start, or a scheduling tool for a simpler operation.
