Overview

SundayMusic brings song preparation and performance into one workflow: keep lyrics, chords, and notes together, arrange songs into shareable playlists, and project lyrics for rehearsal or live worship. That breadth is useful to groups carrying the same material from planning to performance; those who only need a private place to keep lyrics may not benefit from its collaboration and projection tools.

Key features

Shared song library: Store lyrics, chords, and notes together and collaborate on songs. This helps bandmates work from common arrangements rather than separate copies.
Transposition and playlists: Change a song's key instantly, then build, reorder, and share playlists for worship, rehearsals, or gigs. The combination serves practical set preparation, not just songwriting.
Flexible display and projection: Songs can show lyrics with adjustable font sizes, columns, notes, and YouTube links, in light or dark mode. Lyric projection extends the same material to rehearsal and live worship, though the stated focus is on lyrics rather than a broader stage-control system.
Mobile workflow and exports: The iOS app supports chord-chart editing, transposition, setlists, and synchronisation across devices and bandmates. Songs can be exported as PDFs or ChordPro files, and playlists can be matched with Apple Music.
Marketplace: Users can share creations for feedback and connect with other musicians, adding a community element to the song library.

Pricing

The Browser account is 0.00 USD per free and provides the full experience through a browser. It is the natural starting point for groups that want the browser workflow without an account fee.

The Apple app costs 2.99 GBP per once, billed one off, for the iPhone and iPad app. That is a modest single purchase for bandmates who want the app's mobile editing and synchronisation, but it means mobile use is not free. The browser account is the cheaper route if browser access is enough.

Platforms

SundayMusic supports web, iOS, and macOS. The App Store requirements are iOS 17 or later for iPhone and iPadOS 17 or later for iPad, so older Apple devices do not meet the stated requirements. The mobile listing describes synchronisation across devices and bandmates.

The developer indicates that contact information, user content, and identifiers may be linked to users, while diagnostics may be unlinked. Apple says it has not verified this information. For help or suggestions, the maker invites users to email hello@sundaymusic.org.

Who it's for

SundayMusic is best suited to bands and worship teams that want a shared collection of charts, a way to adjust keys and assemble sets, and lyric projection for rehearsals or live use. It is a less compelling fit for solo writers who do not need shared arrangements, playlists, or projection.

Pros and cons

Pros

One workflow from chart to performance: Songs can be organised into playlists and projected, which suits teams that use their library for both preparation and live worship.
Useful chart flexibility: Instant transposition, adjustable display options, and PDF or ChordPro exports give groups several ways to adapt and share material.
Free browser account: The full browser experience costs 0.00 USD per free, so groups can use that route without paying for the Apple app.

Cons

Apple mobile access costs extra: The iPhone and iPad app is a one-time 2.99 GBP purchase, unlike the free browser account.
Recent OS requirements: The app requires iOS 17 or later or iPadOS 17 or later, excluding devices below those versions.
Team-focused feature set: Collaboration, setlists, and projection are central strengths, but may be unnecessary overhead for someone who only wants a personal song archive.

Topline is a free mobile option for personal, non-commercial use.
Udio is an alternative for readers seeking a free music-generation service, with daily and monthly credits and song-generation limits on its free plan.
Chordbot may suit chord-focused work on Android or iOS; its free Lite version disables saving and exporting, while the paid version enables both.
Hookpad is a web option for composing chords and melody, with unlimited cloud saves on its free plan and one-minute previews for advanced features.
Songkeeper Studio is an Android and iOS alternative with a free Basic plan limited to five songs, two drafts per song, and two recordings per song.

Verdict

Choose SundayMusic if your band or worship team needs a shared song library that connects chord editing, setlists, and lyric projection. Its strongest reason to choose it is that connected group workflow, with free browser access; look elsewhere if you need a free Apple app, have an older device, or mainly want a solo songwriting tool.
